vcu: 1 3-pt. FG/21 FG's (4.8%)

Indeed, that was as bad a game as I've seen vcu play in a long while. Some of it was due to Davidson--not just the 3s, but all those layups! On the other hand, I think it's too much to expect vcu to continue to miss as high a percentage of layups against us.

I'm hoping that they'll be tired with the late game/short turnaround. Was it a bus ride (4 1/2 hrs)?

Getting back to basketball, it really was a treat watching Davidson carve up vcu's press and half-court defense last night. Just goes to show how valuable great coaching and sound fundamentals are.

I enjoy watching Davidson make all the former Hewitt apologists eat crow for their excuses of lack of talent and how could a CAA team couldn't compete instantly.

Not to be a Hewitt apologist, but the A10 was loaded last year and much stronger top to bottom than this year. St. Louis is night and day, UMass, St. Joes, vcu, GW were all much better teams last year than this year.

There's no way Davidson wins the same number of games in last year's A10.

Their guys seemed to always be in the right place and the floor was spaced out really well. They just seem to really run their offense almost flawlessly. It helped that their threes were dropping, but most of them were WIDE open due to good to movement and spacing, so not surprising that they were landing.

That, my friend, is what you call a well coached team. I'll take well coached over one excellent athlete and three or four average guys any day of the week.

If there is anything in the world that could ease the sting of this lost season, it's watching that overrated bunch of clowns and their douchebag fanbase circle the drain with us.

Sad to say, but vcu has 21 (soon to be 22) wins. We have 20 (soon to be 21) losses. I'll take 20+ win "mediocre" seasons all day long and twice on Sundays at this point.

They may be circling the drain in the bathroom sink.
