So Ball and Dinkins were the only 2 scholarship athletes not to play. What do we read into that? Dinkins still hurt? Possibly red-shirting Ball for him not to play in his home state?

Yeah, and not sure why on the ball part. Nobody seems to know.
I'm trying to figure that one out as well. It was a huge turning point in the game. I think the refs royally F'd up the call on all accounts.

Nevertheless, I am ecstatic over how well Mason competed. All in for Skinn!

Did Tre Wood play? I don’t remember seeing him out there.

Not having Ball play was a little curious.

Hopefully we get a real game with WVU, looks like a relationship was forged between the two coaches in the huddle about whether to continue to play.

Tre Wood played a little bit

I, too, was wondering why Ball didn't see a few minutes.

This game was full of mysteries that will go unsolved due to its "exhibition" status.

They didn’t have the right mindset to play tonight.

I’ll see myself out.

(Dinkins was in regular clothes, so I suspect it’s his back injury. Ball no idea)

My guess is Ball Is going to red shirt. I know this game wouldn’t count against his eligibility, but Skinn is trying to get this seasons team ready. No point in wasting time on ball when he won’t play this season.

I don’t disagree with you. I think Skinn likes Kelly. But I prefer Malik.

I think Billups, Malik, and Wood are going to be our sparks off the bench players. Skinn said he wanted to be more aggressive defensively with the second unit and if it’s those three that makes sense (edit to add in with Woody Newton it makes even more sense).

As an official, I have no idea what that call was. That was not flagrant at all. You can't turn back on a missed call after play has resumed. If it was flagrant it should've been made clear to everyone in the arena. So very confused. Mason was better than expected regardless

He fouled out two of our bigs too and scored a ton of points.

The 5 spot seems to be the place where we are most shaky.
Don’t know that we’re shaky there, necessarily. Edwards was third-team all-ACC last year … other than Holmes, he’ll most likely be the best big we see all season. Think Kelly and Henry will be fine against A-10 opponents.

What about Dinkins? Can’t write him off.

I agree the reffs sucked in the second half. But if I’m being honest, Mason didn’t play as well in the 2nd half.

Got floor seats for the game and turnt up my jackassness 200%. Their fans were giving it to me the entire game. Had so much fun and quite the experience. Now on to Nov 6th but being a good boy shooting content.

Felt like we saw what the ceiling of this team could look like in the first half, putting up 40-plus points and getting offense from a lot of different places, but the foul trouble in the second half forced Tony to play some weird lineups that took away the rhythm.

Still very encouraged. Maddox is a bucket and he’ll be able to get his against anyone we play. RP is doing a great job of picking his spots and sharing the ball, and Hall really showed flashes of a guy who will be a mismatch problem in the A-10.
