Game 19, AT Fordham, Jan 22nd, 7 PM, NO TV

Why on earth in what is likely to be a close, end of game situation, would anyone take us over a team that has a 20ppg scorer?

Fordham 64
Gays, Miscreants, Undesirables 61

I suppose someone is going to point out that it is offensive to call our players "miscreants" now.

It will no doubt be close. I just hope Moore is in the game at the end and not being subbed in only for defensive purposes (assuming no foul trouble). Lets sink or swim with him on the floor. Its the only way we know if he can play or not.

I know this is a extremely picky observation/complaint and it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but I want to say it anyways.

I saw that the AD is doing a promotion for the game on Saturday against GW with a "Green Out". They are giving the first 5,000 fans green t-shirts when they arrive at the Patriot Center. Nice idea. I've always liked "White Outs, Gold Outs", etc etc. But, why only give out 5,000 t-shirts? If you're going to do a "Green Out" shouldn't every person be wearing a green t-shirt? Granted, only 5,000 fans will probably show up for the game and maybe that's what the AD is assuming. I think they should put a shirt on the back of every seat in the Patriot Center like many, if not all, other schools/teams do. Only 7,000 show up? Okay...donate the remaining t-shirts to charity or re-use them later in the year or next season.

Sometimes the marketing efforts of our AD really puzzle me and could be implemented in better ways by most people on these boards.

This is the start of our 17 game winning streak that gets Hewitt a 3-year extension.

I'm guessing that they think the gym will be half full of GWU fans and doesn't want to just give away a shirt to the opposition.

Isnt this pretty standard for giveaways at most sports venues? Limited giveaways always draw fans sooner. They get to their seats sooner and are more excited to be there.

e.g I remember the masses leaving Brions early for bobble heads a few years ago.

Yes, but that was a different time with an energized fan base. No one is rushing to get a cheap green shirt.

Not if you're trying to have a "Green Out" aka everyone in the arena is wearing green. Shirts should be placed on each seat. That's standard. Just thought it was interesting from a marketing standpoint. Doesn't really matter though, we have much bigger things to worry about.

Wow, that is one of the most depressing facts about Mason basketball in a long time. I thought for sure we would be favored by at least a half point.

Why would anyone be surprised that we'd be a dog? We have basically the same over all record and we're both winless in the league...game in their gym....whats the surprise?

I saw the line at +1 and jumped all over it. Here's to hoping Mason continues its win streak against the spread (procuring our first A10 victory in the process).

Records are only a part of the game (obviously the most important part), but Mason's losses have come against better teams in games we arguably should have won. We are clearly a better team than Fordham.
