one season when Mason lost a lot of lose games they ended up destroying the next season (Cam Long, Ryan Pearson etc..). So all we have to do is get this season out of the way. The future looks promising especially with Hewitt's recruits

How we were able to even make it to OT was the best coaching so far from Hewitt. I understand that isnt saying much but the plays called for Jenkins and Wright was really impressing. The traps were also good, even though we got called for fouls. The refs were very questionable and we were really unable to rush them and get the turnovers we wanted.

Great, so now we're the Chicago Cubs ... only not quite as lovable losers.

Hey, there's always next year.

Ignoring, of course, that we spent most of last season saying the same thing.

Yeah, but they had a veteran club coming back that was coached by Larranaga. I'm not sure where people are finding optimism given the Hewitt track record.

We are not getting blown out and we are getting decent production from our young players. The younger players fit more with the system Hewitt is trying to install. Sherrod Wright's free throw and FG % has gone down. And it seems when he is down he mentally can not get over it. Sherrod is suppose to be our best player and he cant even dribble 5 feet without it being stolen. Allen is good but he misses so many freaky layups and then just falls down. Then the last 2 minutes the other team puts a cheat code in and he can't dribble down the court. Williams hahahahahaha enough said. They just aren't as good as we thought they were. The underclassmen are better than we thought so I think that is a positive for our future.

You guys forget we had to get rid of some deadweight last year ..some of Coach L's players. We wouldnt be this bad under Coach L as we would of had Luke Hancock for two years. But Hey what can you do.

I think its amazing that Hewitt is able to continue to motivate the players the last 4 games.

Who knows, the fact that they were coached by Larranaga could actually be part of the problem. Old players and new coach don't always mesh well together.

What exactly is a color guy?

Every sports broadcast has a play-by-play guy and a color analyst. The latter is usually a former coach or player, who is there to offer insight on the game.

As for the game, I usually have a list of bone-headed mistakes afterwards that I bitch about, but I'm struggling to find one or two that swayed this game from either a player or coaching standpoint. Our late-game rotations have been head-scratchers lately, but even those seemed to work out with Okoloji coming up with 5 big points and a steal.

Jollay and I usually agree on most things, but I didn't see a foul on that last play when Corey was battling their guy for the ball. Although we obviously got caught in a mismatch, any referee worth his salt swallows his whistle on that play if there is some contact, but I didn't see anything Corey did to warrant a foul.

It's frustrating to lose a game on a call like that, especially after we hit 7 straight FTs to force one OT and what should have been a second one; unfortunately, when you lose as many close games as we have lately, you tend to wonder if we are just snake-bitten.

Addendum: Wait, I just thought of one play in the second half that summed up our season in a nutshell. J2 went up soft for a shot that got blocked, he then fumbled the loose ball under the basket and he then proceeded to foul one of their players. By my count, that's three miscues by one player in a 3-second span.
