Marko is Back!

Final exams for the Fall 2015 semester begins on 12/14 and ends 12/19.

So my guess is Marko is in trouble for plagiarism on a paper for an upper level finance class.
If it is for a paper then it should be resolved quickly. It is pretty much a zero and a mark on the student's academic record.

However if it is for an exam he got to take early and it happens to be with professor Pilloff, Gallay, or Canterbury................:sidedead:. It could last for months before a decision is made.

Your "guess" is?

You're speculating on an academic and honor code violation, identifying a student by name, but have no evidence?

How very mature and responsible of you.

My God...now I'm wondering more about whether Royal will return or not.

We need to give him a football helmet or one of those hats/helmets that some soccer players use. He can also use Marko's mask since he won't need it for a while...

"institutional review process"= honor code violation. Definitely not just a grade issue. Not really a speculation. Not being immature or irresponsible at all with my post.

It is sad news for sure. He was finally playing in a system that works for him.

Coach Paulsen not giving anyone any slack.

I don't understand your point about Coach Paulsen?

Well, to be fair to both QA and Marko, he is suspected of an honor code violation at this point.

As for Paulsen, I'm sure he had no choice.

This absolutely stinks. Marko is the last player I expected to get in this sort of trouble. Hopefully it's a minor issue and can be resolved in the next few weeks. I would absolutely hate to see his career at Mason (academic or athletic) end this way.

I'm starting to wonder, will any of our seniors be on the active roster on March 1?

gemini,

Perhaps you're right, although the official announcement does not use the word "suspected" or "alleged", see http://www.gomason.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=25200&ATCLID=210576888:

"George Mason men’s basketball head coach Dave Paulsen has summarily suspended senior Marko Gujanicic for violation of team and university academic policies."

Just when Marko was finding his groove. If it's a process inclined to drag out, maybe it's time to complete the purge of seniors and get our freshmen even more playing time. Deal with the pain now for significant gain later.

Not sure how much more playing time you can actually give the freshmen.

I wonder what Marko cousin Niko has to say.

Suspending a basketball athlete for school work sounds ridicules to me. UNC kids were signed up to fake classes and no one cared. Louisville kids were sleeping with hookers, no one cared.

The nice thing about maintaining integrity is that when we get to a Final Four, we can keep the trophy and the banner. You can go down the John Calipari route, and in a few years you can vacate all those wins. And UNC and Louisville are NCAA basketball "blue bloods" so that is why they get by with that crap. Keep dreamin' that the NCAA is fair.

Sounds like this is a Mason issue, not the NCAA. Mason is the one that has higher standards that L'ville and UNC.

Side bar- have the UNC and L'ville stories completely gone away? Have either coaches been suspended/games revoked? If not, especially for UNC, that is a joke.
