The biggest indicator for me with Swanson-Rodgers is that he worked every day for a whole season with Tony two years ago. If Tony didn't think he could help us in some way, we wouldn't be having him come this weekend.

So many times you can see the talent, but you don't know the character or the work ethic of someone *cough* Hall *cough*. Tony already has those answers.

For sure. And like I said, with Haynes and Emejuru on the roster he doesn’t have to come in and be a hero. If he winds up averaging a double-double great. It he’s our 9th-11th rotation player also great.

I see Swanson-Rodger as roughly equivalent to what we were expecting from Nico Pavrette: another big in practice and to eat minutes in blowouts, another 5 post fouls if we need them, coverage in case someone misses a few games, and a change to grow and develop into something more.

Yup. The question is will he be willing to accept that role here? Happy if he is.

Have to believe that he is interested in that role and also putting in the work to be something more than that as well.

He might have been recruited over at UMD very easily but there was a reason they even thought they had something in him. 6'11 guys don't show up at a Power 5 unless they are half decent. Hopefully he can develop and contribute.

O’Connor is visiting Monday and likely committed. Marshall plays the same position. Hence, Marshall is no longer considering Mason.

They played each other and UMass Lowell won by 21.

O’Connor had 12 points and 7 assists. Marshall had 30, but took 22 shots to get them. O’Connor seems like a glue guy who will do everything the team needs.

Definitely can see Tony thinking O’Connor fits better in the team concept instead of adding a ball-dominant guard like Marshall. Been there, done that.

No. I’m just saying that I don’t believe one has anything to do with the other. Marshall’s visit wasn’t cancelled because of O’Connor.

After watching more video and looking at stats O'Connor seems like a great fit. UMass-Lowell had a good season with 22 wins overall and 11-5 in conference. Five guys averaged double figures, well O'Connor at 9.9 really makes it 6. Led UMass Lowell with 1,120 minutes last season. 35.4% from 3. A team player used to sharing the ball? I hope we are able to welcome him officially in the coming days.
