GIVING DAY 2023
Austin Peay has possibly the best incoming transfer class of any non-P5/BE school. They did very, very well in the portal and they have a chance to be much better than last season. I would not write them off as a cupcake just yet. Hopefully we're getting a good win early, before they gel, and then they turn it on and make us look good later.

NC A&T was 318 in the NET last year.
If memory serves, I think they lost their coach mid season or some sort of scandal happened. Mason alum, Ahamd Dorset was an assistant there.

Every road game in league play is tough no matter how you slice it, but generally speaking having Davidson, Fordham, Lasalle, Umass, and St Joes as our one off road games is much easier than having Dayton SLU Duquense Bonaventure and vcu as one off road games.

I suspect Fordham will continue to be a thorn in the league's side. Lasalle is still a shitty gym and place to see a game. And shitty popcorn.

ECU was 190 in the NET last year. Oddly enough they beat Toledo last year.

Hopefully they will improve this year and be more of a top 150 NET ranking program.

Thanks for posting!
Thanx
hope you enjoy

There is some interesting analysis that can be done
1) order the data by conference
2) compare A-10 vs the other conferences
in a perfect world - who are we better than or worse than

3) Compare GMU ranking to their ranking/equivalent team in other conferences
I would argue that to build an OOC schedule that helps in an at large bid
and a "name recognition" OOC schedule that helps to build ticket sales
these should be the teams we are trying to schedule

4) look at the brand name former power houses that are ranked below us
we should also be targeting those programs - Louisville and Georgetown, for example - especially in their down years

Last years ratings are completely useless for the most part now. Would be interesting to see how this compares at the end of the season.

Cornell is actually a pretty good home game, and I'm assuming its a buy.

They were 128 in the NET last year, and while most of their wins were Quad 4, they did only lose by 2 to Miami.

Assuming they'll be in that top 125-150 range again this year, its a good buy game in my opinion
I have a friend who went to Cornell so I messaged her to trash talk...then I went and looked and saw we only ever played Cornell once, the year Hewitt got fired. Bad memories came flooding back.
Ah yes, that was a great game. Lost by 8 or 10, but pretty sure Mason should have lost by like 20. Cornell was sub 300 RPI at the time if I recall.
