He had several offers/interest. UNC-Greensboro, James Madison, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, St. Bonaventure etc.

Not everyone is going to get minutes. Mike remains extremely engaged with all things Mason on instagram. I expect him to come in and compete like the 3-time State Champion, and State POY that he is.

If anyone is getting nudged out at the PG spot it isn’t Gray. We have no idea what he can become ... can’t say that about a couple other dudes.

With only one scholarship for next year left and a number of rumored targets still out there including Miller and Kolek, is there any sense that any of the incoming freshman might be a redshirt candidate?

RS candidate still counts in a burned scholarship, so I would doubt that comes up much. Also, rules are very unclear what a Redshirt means anymore due to the COVID age. I would suspect next year is also probably a free year for kids (might be dead wrong) so I doubt redshirting comes back until 2022 season

The concept of redshirting is history with the new transfer rule. Why would you use a scholarship on somebody who isn’t playing and can leave with no penalty? Philosophy has to be get what you can out of a guy while you have him.

Yes medicals are a different animal ... but even then you’ll have a bunch of guys taking the extra year of eligibility with them and using it at a different school

That depends on your source. Verbal commits has him at 6'8. 247Sports has him at 6'9 in their list but their article on his commitment lists him at 6'8. In my experience when you see a disrepency like that, the shortest height is more likely to be accurate.

I would love Nickleberry to come and would have my jaw drop again. Kid can play. I also love the positive outlook! Hopefully we can confidently say that in a year or two.

That's a BOLD prediction. I wouldn't be ready to crown us based on the signing of a low 20s% shooter that can't stay healthy.

Don't get me wrong. He's the right prototype, but he has a lot to prove at this level.

It shouldn't be overlooked that we are replacing 4 key contributors with 2 proven commodities so far.

I think we’re gonna be stronger, more physical and much better defensively next season. How many more wins does that translate into? I guess we’ll see.

That will be a tough thing to figure out because you’d have to figure out wins/loses but also factor in SOS. I have a feeling if KE has time to get it all set up our OOC schedule will be tougher than what Paulsen ever put together.
Not sure what schedule commitments we already have on the books prior to KE getting here.
