Perhaps, all news/game results can go in this thread.

Patrick Holloway is posting about the trip on Mason's official twitter.

Is Mayimba not on the trip? I haven't seen him in any of the posted photos... Maybe he cant go because he is from Gabon...

Looks like Holloway beefed up a bit in the offseason. Put on some much needed muscle. That is encouraging. VG has been nothing but smiles in the pics, hopefully that translates to the court.

The walk on point guard we got is tiny. He is standing next to Corey Edwards and looks like a midget. He might be 5'5 on a good day. No wonder he developed an outside jumper/shot. Don't see him being a player in the A-10. If he wants playing time he should of gone to the Patriot League.

Trey Porter is one tall dude. If he hits the weight room hard for a year this guy can be legit and a force to reckon with in the future.

Patrick definitely added some much-needed muscle, but I was more impressed with how great Copes looks. Somebody said he lost about 25 pounds, and you could definitely tell he was in better shape with the way he was running the floor at last Saturday's practice.

It's too bad Copes has been suspended or hurt for most of his Mason career. We've really only seen flashes of the ability that made him a national top-60 recruit coming out of high school.

He does look very fit. Between a 100 percent healthy Copes, Thompson and Porter we certainly wouldn't lack for shot blockers this season.

Hopefully Copes will stay out of trouble and have a hell of a senior year to set himself up for a pro career overseas.

GMU wins 85-61. Granted it's lower level BUT they are still pros.

Hopefully, we are building positive momentum for our 2014-2015 season.

Not trying to bring you down, just stating facts. We beat a level 4 Spanish team that was 12 - 16 last year.

From the GoMason newsletter:

Game #1 in Spain: George Mason 85, Gandia 61
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Mason defeated Units pel Basquet Gandia in the first game of the trip, 85-61. Patrick Holloway led the Patriots with 18 points, while newcomer Shevon Thompson posted a double-double behind 12 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Trey Porter recorded five blocks and five steals.

"I am very happy with the energy level of the team considering the travel challenges and time adjustments," commented head coach Paul Hewitt.

While these games mean absolutely nothing, glad to see Holloway scoring, Thompson rebounding, and Porter blocking shots.
