Thompson has impressive rebounding stats for a guy playing only 18 minutes a game. On the other hand, why did he only average 18 minutes a game?

They had a really deep team, with 12 players averaging at least 7 minutes a game. Thompson was fifth in minutes/game with only five minutes less than the the top guy Goodman. Their best overall player (Uceda) averaged 23 minutes.

Most JUCOs spread the minutes around pretty liberally in an effort to showcase as many players as possible.

It only helps the school's credibility to be able to say "We've sent X number of players on to D-I schools."

Plus, you're going to have a hard time recruiting if kids know the starters are gonna play 35 minutes and everyone else only gets in during garbage time.
