One thing that's really impressed me with Jenkins so far this season is how explosive and quick his up and under move is. Once he gets his defender where he wants him, his move to the basket is so quick.

Agreed. After reading one of Ephoops' posts, I'm attributing Jalen's development to Paulsen's reputation for being able to develop big men (i.e. Muscala) at Bucknell. Jalen is a real force when he stays out of foul trouble.

To be a little fair to Shevon, he got better a handling double teams in the paint in the back half of the year. With another year of eligibility, who knows how good he would have been?

It really did look like Jalen was playing against little kids in the first half of Penn

So basically, if he had coaching for two seasons rather than one? :bricks:

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Jalen Jenkins and Marquise Moore will complete their career this season as the only Paul Hewitt recruits to play 4 seasons for the Patriots with no suspensions.

Corey Edwards? Or are you considering him a Larranaga recruit? I don't remember Corey being suspended, but I have tried to erase all memories from 2012-2015.

When was Bryon Allen suspended?

Yes, he was a Larranaga recruit.

Yeah, exactly...maybe he actually gets drafted to the NBA instead of being buried on a D-League bench somewhere.
To be fair to Shevon, he's not burried on a DLeague bench; he's been injured the entire season. As a floor seat season ticket holder to a DLeague team, I spend a little bit of money to get a lot of access to info on the still-kind-of-fledgling league... Shevon is seen as a potential D League star of he can get and stay healthy. And, like Sean Kilpatrick, the jump from D League star to legit NBA player can be a small one in some cases.

I had been wondering about this ... seemed odd that he would literally not be playing at all, otherwise. Hope he gets well soon!

He was actually a projected starter for the Bayhawks. He was expected to see lots of minutes and according to the 76ers brass I talk to occasionally (not Shevon's team, but they obviously all talk to each other about players) Erie still hopes he will. They had high hopes for this season and thought his body would really help in the middle.

My parents are D-League "insiders" and season ticket holders as well.... Stephen Zimmerman is Erie's best player by a ton and plays center.... Stephen Zimmerman was always predicted a starter.. From what I have heard is Shevon would get about 7-12 minutes a game and be a 3rd option at center because his non existent offensive game and footwork.

I guess the D League rumor mill is just like college... All depends who you talk to! Haha...

So, yeah, I was talking to one of the 76ers VPs at an event before Shevon got hurt and of course I was asking if he knew anything about him. I think it was like the first week of November? He told me Shevon would be starting opening day and showed me the projections for the "Atlantic Division" starting 5. This was before the Magic assigned Zimmerman. Obviously things have changed! You know as a D League fan that unfortunately the worst part of being a D League fan is the constant change.

I still have hopes for Shevon because Zimmerman is actually a Magic player in assignment to Erie, so hopefully he goes back up.
