Goodbye Keyshawn Hall

Pretty sure all scholarships are year to year anyway. Most schools just honored them because no one would come if you just kicked everyone off the team every year. Now it's all different you get recruited over etc, but theres no rule they have to take you off or bring you back etc.

The P5 all guarantee your scholarship for four years, even if you quit the team.

The PAC12 was the first conference to do this but now they’re dead.

Hall isnt good enough to carry a team like he wanted to be and what Skinn thought he was.

Hall might be better suited going to a school where’s he’s not expected to carry the team.

I think Halls departure will be good for both Mason and Hall.
I think skinn needed someone to gain some momentum. He did that, I don’t know if skinn thought he was or wasn’t anything. That seems to be making a lot of assumptions.

He’ll go Power 5. He’ll make solid money next year. His stats will go down across the board. He won’t be drafted.
Ok could be the case, I have no idea what he will or won’t be. Everyone on here was all very high on him, I remember vividly when it was said he needs to learn how to pass, dribble and see the court better it was the end of world. It was the you are ‘anti mason’ I tend to think he’s not ready but as same time I think it depends how hard he wants to work. Seems like he worked his a** off then something happened and it all went sideways and he quit or got hurt or something weird happened. So tbd what he becomes or doesn’t become.

Other than from a $ perspective, neither of those situations strike me as inherently attractive.
I mean of course it’s all about money. I mean is what it is, I also have a feeling he was getting paid at mason more than people realize. Only reason he came.

Yes us ins who questioned his basketball IQ were pillaged on here. So happy his anti-team attitude, faces, bad body language, lazy passes, and boneheaded plays will make their way to a P5. He was a phony - great on camera but detrimental to team success on the court. So happy he is gone! Like someone else said weirdest departure in GMU basketball history.

How quickly they forget G.C. Marcaccini! (circa 95-96 season)

Do you remember when Mason's 7' center Craig Hodges quit the team during a game (1992-93 season)?
Thank you! These are the history lessons that I need. I was just lumping Hall in with the likes of Copes, Holloway, Mayimba, Relvao.

"Nestor also had no explanation for the departure of senior center Craig Hodges, who left the arena after being yanked two minutes into the second half. At that point, Hodges was the Patriots' high scorer with eight points.

"He just left," Nestor said. "I didn't have a chance to speak to him. Guys react to tough situations in different ways. This is a tough situation for our kids and you run into tough situations in life.""

it’s a bit of copium to think he’s not an NBA prospect. I don’t think he’s ready yet but if he transfers to a team where the offense isn’t centered around him he can develop some other necessary skills (tighten his handles, passing, etc.). I see him possibly as a Bazemore type if he can also improve his defense. However, the scoring ability is likely not going to cut it as scorers and decent shooters are a dime a dozen. He’s definitely got an NBA build though and the ability to get there. I’m not going to hold a grudge against a seemingly nice kid with a dream and did what he thought he had to.

I agree with this, however, does KH agree with this? OR will KH be looking for another team this time next year that will make him the center of their universe?

Not speaking for anyone else, but I honestly couldn’t care less that he’s leaving. The writing has been on the wall about that since December. But the way you handle yourself in situations like this says a lot about your character (or lack thereof) and flaking on your team during the most important time of the season is chicken shit.

Every player has a dream but not all of them are quite so douchey about putting their own interests ahead of the team’s.

That could certainly be the case but I’m just saying that with the right development he’s capable. Hopefully he will make a decision he won’t regret (or that he won’t regret this one).
