Injuries and generally uninspiring play our last 5 games means a decent Homecoming crowd goes home disappointed on Saturday. If we stay within 20 I will be surprised. Duquesne 75 - Mason 54.

If Otis cant play bc of ankle I'm fine with Hartwell leading us at PG. Our assists #'s might go up and thus pull us out last place in the assists standings.

Calixte will be back.
Greene will be fine.
Question mark is Boyd.

Hughes went off on GW when they played so Mason has to make sure he’s covered as well as Carry and any other shooter.

I expect Mason to take the w. I also expect to get some sort of lecture for being into the game and cheering from some old fart in 115.

Big game, we lose this one and I'm betting we don't finish top 4. Injuries and uninspiring play lately lead me to believe this will be more of the same.

If Calixte will be back and Greene will be fine, Mason wins 81-77

I think Paulsen has to be prepared to play without Boyd in this game (6 days won’t be enough). If Calixte is back, he needs to take all of AJs minutes and he needs to give some of Boyd’s minutes to AJ backing up Miller.

Give more time to Hartwell and JDS and only put Boyd on the floor if absolutely necessary.

Trying to handle Eric Williams and Carry is going to be tough, especially if our poor offense and shooting and turnovers continue.

Duquesne has a 17-9 record as of this posting (they beat GW on Saturday by a score of 85-69), but plays St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night at 7:30 (in Olean, NY), which can be watched on ESPN+. They are 8-5 in the A-10 and 3-4 on the road.

I just saw they have the week off too. They play SBU the Wednesday after the homecoming game.

Im sure all teams have injuries, i honestly dont think it would have made much difference in the outcomes. Other than Otis and Kier this team just cant shoot and score. We must be one of the poorest shooting teams in the A10. Just a guess. Having said that 15 wins is actually impressive. I would describe GM as way too streaky and fundamentally too inconsistent. We have episodes of playing real well and also real bad. No doubt DP is most likely as perplexed as any of us bloggers.
All they can do is play with pride and dig deep, hopefully we can finish with 18/19 wins and have an outside shot at NIT.

Only two players shooting about 35% from 3, one is out for the year and the other is a freshman who hasn't taken enough shots to qualify in the stats department.

Grayer has 9 more made 3s in 8 games than Miller has in 10; he has only 6 fewer made 3s than Greene has in 26 games. To say we're missing his shooting is an understatement right now.

They are starving.

They are young and socially awkward.

They are cold, perhaps frightened.

And, sadly, they desperately need your help.

They are the 3,327+ Geo. Mason University students who attend home men's basketball, but don't have the heart, the brains, nor the sense... to cheer.

Yet... there is hope—guiding, luminous, uplifting HOPE.

That “HOPE” is you.

My foundation will provide one Mason Fan Cheer Guide placed on the seat for each and every student who attends the 2019 GMU Homecoming men's basketball game. With this one sheet of paper, printed on both sides, it will nurture a student fan—guide him or her to grow, learn, and persevere over the rigors and high responsibility of becoming a true, dedicated, and raucus Patriots' fan.

And you, yes you my brothers and sisters (if there is a sister out there), will be most beneficial to these students' enlightenment and education. For a mere $5 from only 20 of you, the Jack Strop GMU Fandom Foundation will have the financial resources to provide this critical instrument of mercy to help transform George Mason University students into rabid Patriots.

Your donation will support production of the Mason Fan Cheer Guide and the sponsorship of a currently extremely pathetic and apathetic student/fan. Upon your donation, I personally will send you a photo of one wretched child—the child that you'll sponsor—along with his or her hand-written note offering you adulation and gratitude that is bound to put a smile on your face and a warm glow in your good heart.

No joke. We need 1,000 fliers at a cost of $.11 each. For only $5 or $.0137 a day over the course of a year—the daily cost of less than 2 gumballs from the lobby of Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre—and you could save your sponsored student from immaculate embarrassment, shame, and ridicule... for the entirety of his or her life!

My foundation needs ONLY 20 donations to pay 95% of the cost. Won't you be a Mason Fan Hero?

Seriously, no joke. I am unemployed and cannot afford nor justify the cost of $111 for reproduction of the Mason Fan Cheer Guide. If you have a PayPal account (and if you don't, get one!!) then send your $5 to:

Jack.Strop@oldtowntoastmasters.org ...

... TODAY!

You will be loved.

One of the most obvious things to me over this 2-3 stretch is that the guys have looked flat, not started games well, no energy or urgency (cough-16-0-cough).

They have a week to rest. It's homecoming. The crowd will be near sellout with peak intoxication level by our standards. Better come out like gang busters with tons of energy. I'm pessimistic that we will see it though.
