Dayton in 2020 I would guess.
Pretty sure you're right. Dayton was Kenpom #4 when they visited in 2020...we lost by 7 but had cut it to 2 (57-55) with less than 2 minutes left. The Flyers scored the last 5 pts of the game.

We only won 5 conference games in the regular season, but did win our last game in the A10 tourney after which everything was cancelled due to covid. Dayton would have had a decent shot of winning a national championship that year.

I purposely scheduled my vasectomy on Wednesday March 11th 2020 so that I could recover and watch the A10 tournament

I hate to admit it (I know, wrong thread), but I have always liked Grant. Seems like a good guy.

That would have been something. It’s been 35 years since someone outside the power 5/6 won a national title, hell the big10 only has 1. While Dayton was very good we will never know if they would have pulled off history.

anyone know if maddox is playing?
I haven't heard anything other than what was said by Tony at the GW post-game and at the Coach's show on Monday. Sounded to me that Maddox would have played against GW if it were a conference or NCAA tournament game, but Tony saw the opportunity to give Darius time to recuperate more fully and be ready for the stretch run. Particularly in light of how the bench played against Davidson.

So unless there has been a setback, I'd be very surprised if Maddox doesn't return against Dayton.

This is how I read his comments as well. And it’s not like we needed him to play considering how the GW game went.

Actually UConn won the National Championship in 2014 as a member of the AAC.

"HALL IN RARIFIED SCORING AIR
Sophomore guard Keyshawn Hall all is one of just three players in Mason's A-10 era to average at least 17 points in a season (Josh Oduro, Otis Livingston II). He's one of 14 players nationally this season to average 17+ points, 8+ rebounds and 1.5+ assists. That group includes Zach Edey (Purdue), Hunter Dickinson (Kansas), Baylor Scheierman (Creighton) and Kyle Filipowski (Duke)."

Dayton's average points per game is 74. In their four losses, they scored, 66, 55, 64, and 47.
The captain obvious key to the game is good defense and hope they have an off night scoring.
