GIVING DAY 2023
After the turn of the century, in the clear blue skies of Germany, came a roar and a thunder men had never heard, like the screamin' sounds of a big war bird....Up in the sky, a man in a plane, Baron von Richtoffen was his name....
In the nick of time, a hero arose, a funny lookin' dog with a big black nose....and Snoopy took off in search of his foe....Snoopy fired once, and he fired twice, and that bloody Red Baron went spinnin' out of sight!

A classic tune on all counts by The Royal Guardsmen. LOL. Not many on this board would have understood your reference.

I hope the students show out. I am bringing a friend and don't want to be embarrassed.

So, is a half court rock fight the way to go, or do we try to speed them up?

Dayton is good, but I'm not scared of them. *If* we can stay out of foul trouble vs Holmes, I think we can match up well otherwise. Hoping Kelly & Henry can keep him in check.

Seems like the teams that have been successful or closest to successful make it a rock fight. Kick Holmes out of the paint, grind every possession the full shot clock, and make Dayton beat you from outside with contested jumpers.

Think we need the perfect game from a few guys this week, but I also think it’s much more doable than I would have said 2 weeks ago.

Kelly staying out of foul trouble guarding Holmes will not be easy. After all Dayton knows Kelly is prone to fouling. So for me doubling Holmes in the paint is the way to go. So look for Holmes to pass to the perimeter accordingly.
Key is for our guards to cut off his passes for some breaks. I'd start Okojie who is much quicker then RP. This is going to be another tight one. Mason by 2.

I think Tony can outcoach Grant. I think Dayton is for sure more talented but Grant isn't that great of an in game or X & O guy. Look for Tony to get creative, guys knock down some shots Mason can win this game.

Holmes had 34, all 2's and FTs.
Ronnie had one of his better games: 22 pts, 6 assists.

I think so. They have a really good defense so I’d be surprised if we can get out in transition much on missed shots the way we did for GW. Might not be a bad idea to push the pace anyway just to see if we can get their legs tired, but this game is going to come down to the half court and rebounding.
