Moore with a big shot 8 for 9 so far today. Then gets fouled with only 4 seconds on the shot clock. Playing clutch!

SLU has 16 assists and 1 turnover and tey're losing by 10. That's amazing.

Edit: and just as I post it, they get TO number 2 with less than a minute left in the game

It's games like this that make the losses bearable.

You can see a couple years down the road, what Paulson is building toward. Otis and Grayer are obviously going to be fantastic players in a couple of years. You can see Abraham as a combo forward who gives teams fits as a stretch 4. You can see Boyd in the Marquise Moore "athletic/physical/rugged guard" slot.

Nice team win with big contributions from everyone. Some thoughts and box score scouting:

- Deandre was 2-7 from the field but found other ways to contribute with 4 rebounds and 3 blocks. It's important for him to make positive plays when his shots aren't falling.

- St. Louis attacked Otis and Shevon with the pick n roll out of timeouts a couple times. They had mixed results but it was interesting to see them choose to attack us there.

- Marquise is the engine that makes this offense go. So many of our open looks are created by Marquise's ability to get inside the paint and bend the defense.

- Otis was 3-5 from 3 today. He finds himself open back there a fair amount, so it'll be huge if he starts taking and making more of those shots.

- Loved to see the guys go up 14 late in the second half. Hated to see them immediately give up a 9-0 run in the next two minutes. Loved seeing them respond and eventually go back up 14. I want to see this team's mental toughness develop as much as anything else this season, and this was a good step forward.

Team played a solid game. MM was money today and definitely the MVP for the game. Refs were hard to figure out on this one and think the SLU coach must have been dong lots of lobbying down on his end of the court. Touch fouls called on our guys numerous times while nothing seemed out of bounds for the bilikins. Team could have let that get to them, but they hung tough and gutted it out.

Hope this is a harbinger of things to come...

Does anyone know what exactly is wrong with Thompson's foot?
