For once I agree with you! I absolutely don’t want Nate James. How hard is it to recruit at Duke. Plus they play Iso ball, so they arnt particularly known for X&Os.

The one thing that stands out to me from this clip is that Tony Skinn wants to be here. I certainly want someone who can coach, but I also want someone who wants to be at Mason, not just be here as a stepping stone. I understand that we likely are a stepping stone for any young coach, but I don't want that to be the only reason someone takes the job.

I mean obviously, it would be his first head coaching job, he'd walk in the door be a hero because of his history in the program. Fans would give him a pass more than others just because of the nostalgia so he'd get at least 3 years before the pitch forks came out

If you're going that route, you're better off with Konkol or Huger.
I hear ya and have that nagging little voice saying something like that to me, I have stayed out of most of the new coach guessing game and commenting on them possibly messing it up because I am giving them the benefit of the doubt given that made the move to get a new coach in the first place. They could have easily argued against replacing Paulsen since it wasn't an over the top justification to get rid of him, but they did it anyway which shows some level of dedication to making the right moves.
If they hire Nate James over Tony, I would greatly exceed the Lamar level of crapping on the program on Twitter.

Hey everyone. It's been a looooooooooooooooong time since I've posted (was a little more active on the old board when I was a student) but what an opportunity we have on our hands right now. Regardless of who we hire, I'm just excited to be excited about something related to Mason basketball.

Anything is possible, but it doesn't seem like Nate James is likely at this point and doesn't make sense quite frankly. Again, anything is possible, doesn't seem likely. That is all.

Ditto. Was WAY more involved with posting back when i was a student in the early 2000's - back in the heyday of George Evans, Erik Herring, Tremaine Price, Jesse Young, and others... I even remember the first rollout of masonhoops, which was followed by caazone.com. I was Sportin' Oaks back then. But since it has been a decade since I posted, I had to create a new account and handle.
Be blunt, forward, and direct. I'm sure Barnes will appreciate that. He's been asked tougher questions.
