I feel like this is progress from last year. Wasn't Mason expected to finish poorly last year?

2018 Baseball Predicted Order of Finish
(Number of first place votes in parenthesis)
1. Saint Louis - 157 (6)
2. vcu - 153 (3)
3. Rhode Island - 146 (2)
4. George Mason - 107

A few minutes research found that GMU was picked to finish 10th last year and finished in 8th. Davidson was picked 8th, finished 6th (won tournament) and went on to go to the Super Regionals.

So that was a long winded way of saying GMU is trending up. Sounds like they are solid on the mound.

Don't know what the weather is supposed to do, but they are home this weekend, finally. They play against Princeton.

PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2019 season will get underway this week for the Princeton Tigers at George Mason (Mar. 1-3).

Princeton went 10-27 last season and 7-14 in the Ivy League. Some highlights include the squad's first victory over Rutgers since 2011 and the team taking a series over Columbia for the first since in seven years.

Some top returners include Taylor Beckett (.269/.352/.387), Joseph Flynn (.235/.296/.353) and Conor Nolan (.252/.364/.387). Flynn (25) and Nolan (22) were the top two guys in RBI production while Nolan also led the squad in stolen bases with six.

The pitching staff features Ryan Smith, who made 10 starts in 2018, striking out 52 in 48 innings. Eli Kimbell was one of the top relievers in the Ivy League, producing a 2.43 ERA with 38 punch outs in 29 2/3 innings and two saves.
