"FAIRFAX, Va. – In a battle of two of the top teams in the state and in the Atlantic 10, the George Mason women's basketball team will host the vcu rams on Sunday afternoon in EagleBank Arena.

Both teams are having one of their best seasons to date, with matching 6-1 records in the Atlantic 10. The Patriots and rams are both riding five-game win streaks after dropping their second A-10 contest of the season. Mason went on the road this week and picked up a gritty 57-41 win at George Washington, its' first win in DC since 2019. vcu also went on the road and downed Dayton, 73-62.

George Mason and vcu will match-up for the 60th time in program history as one of the Patriots' longest standing rivals, dating back to 1975. The teams have met in all but six seasons since the first meeting. The Patriots and rams have been evenly matched over the years as the rams hold a slight edge over the Patriots, 37-32. Mason performs the best against the rams at home, and are 17-17 against vcu in Fairfax."

We are currently a half game back from co-conference leaders Richmond and St. Joes.

We play Joes on 2/8 and Richmond on 2/24. Could be massive games depending on what happens in the meantime.

This is a fun team to watch. They can push the ball with their athleticism but are also exceptional at running the half-court offense. You could see that their defensive pressure frustrated vcu.

In all seriousness, I would have to imagine she will be on a lot of AD's lists come March - she has definitely earned an extension/raise
They gave her an extension thru 27/28 after last season, not sure what the financials were.

I'm sure she'll be approached (if they keep winning) with some offers we can't match. But regardless, the school is going to have to proactively engage her again about sweetening the pot....raise, incentives, staff salaries, etc.

It seems this coach can coach AND recruit which is much needed breath of fresh air here in Fairfax. Looking at the roster, 8 players are from outside of VA and 8 are from DC, MD, or VA. 2 of the 6 are international players which more and more good talent is coming from oversees.... especially Australia and Europe.

One is from VA Beach which is a good place to pluck talent from in general. Outside of the DMV...Hopefully we are going to prioritize that area and have a bigger presence in that area.
