Hayes started 14 games at PG as a freshman in the ACC and averaged 8 ppg, then lost his starting job this season and was basically invisible coming off the bench. But he did score 16 against UNC so the potential is there.

Kim is talking to guys now. But the caliber of players he’s looking to get out of the portal have many other options. It’s gonna take some time.

I’m sure there will also be some players who declare after other coaches are hired away or just after their teams are done playing. Probably best to stand pat on taking any commitments until April.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Mason take a flyer on Jared Kimbrough. He’s not going to be a starter, but I think he’s proven at this point that he is a serviceable backup and would provide us some much needed depth and toughness down low.
