Looks like we are headed to the Cayman Islands:

Since ODU is in this field I'm wondering if that means they wont be on our OOC {note, I've heard nobody ever mention ODU as a possible OOC team. I just think they should be given our history with them}

Also, since this is an 8 team field, we'll get three games in the Cayman's instead of 2 games at the destination and two home games vs low major teams like we've had the past few years.

These tourneys aren't the best so you won't get anything but shitty lineups. When we get to a few NCAA Tourneys then maybe we can end up in Maui or Atlantis. Until then, its shortsighted to think we are getting into an elite pre season tourney.

Wow what a shitty lineup

USF: Returns top 3 scorers, 5 losses by a combined 20 points.. played a good Cincy team closer than we did.
ODU: Loses two best players, beat Syracuse, vcu and Richmond this year... Should not be great next year
Loyola Chicago: America's favorite team last postseason. Loses two of top three players but returns big man Krutwig and Sister Jean. Only win worth mentioning is Richmond this year
NMSU: Returns all 4 of their best players. Beat Wash St 2 times, New Mexico 2 times (why did they schedule tourney again with Wash St?). New Mexico beat the snot out of top 5 team Nevada and NMSU beat them twice
Colorado St: returns two of top 3 players.. Not a very good team after their problems internally. No good wins this year
Washington St: returns 2nd best player who is a freshman... Historically a pretty shitty team since Klay Thompson was a Cougar. No good wins
One other team TBA: Wisconsin maybe?!?


So yea not the best tournament but we should be a top 2 team in it.. I would rather be top 2 than clearly the worst team out of 4 as we were this year... A win vs a decent team is always better than a blowout loss by a good team IMO

Dude. Really. November is their rainy season. That's why very few fans attend most of these touneys in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico.

Having gone to Costa Rica in November it didn’t rain once in 5 days. Rainy season generally ends late October early November. Yes I know Costa Rica and Caymen islands aren’t the same but just filling you in on that

And I also think many don’t attend because flights are going to be minimum $1k with two three stops

I was in Jamaica for the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic this past November (note, there are no Jersey Mike's locations anywhere on the island). Weather was great. It rained one morning for about 20 minutes and then cleared right up.

I did a quick search and flights from BWI are running under $500 (barely), roundtrip (Sun-Thursday, presuming the dates stick based on last season's tournament)

Very good news!! can't believe it is only that much... I was looking at flights to a smaller airport on Cayman Islands when I said that number... tix to little Caymen island airport are over $2k... I thought that was the only airport

I go to Caymans every now and then--Masonlawyer has some clients' off-shore accounts down there and he pays me to go check in on them every now and again.

Who gives a f**k if its the rainy seasons when you can just stay indoors at casinos with hookers anyhow.

Maybe not one of the big tournaments, but the overall quality here beats the last two years where we get two cupcakes at home. So maybe none of the teams will be top 25, but there aren't going to be any bottom 300 teams either.

Winning against any of these teams will do nothing for us if we are looking for any hope of an at large and losses may hurt badly. I don’t get why we’d agree to this after testing ourselves this year. Seems like we’re lowering expectations when we should be aiming higher.

As for being the bottom in this years tournament, think that’s a bit silly. We all thought we’d be in better shape to contend and if we had it together we would have snagged at least one quality win.

Hopefully we can put together other OOC games with an upside. The guys we have next year deserve a shot at an at large and that needs to be the mentality going forward.

If you thought we would be better or even contend with Cincy or Ole Miss in the Destin tourney this year you were fooling yourself... Baylor maybe just maybe but they also had (he is now injured for rest of year) Tristan Clark who physically went unopposed against us and does that to 90% of teams he faces... Say we play and defeat NMSU, USF and Washington St... I would be happy with that... USF should be really really good next year..
