GIVING DAY 2023
Since the athletic department is upping their game, I felt like I should too, so I put this together... will try to update it as the roster comes together.

Love it. Can I get a copy divided/ordered by position? If there even are positions these days.

P.S. - I am a millennial, so I can't really understand it without more labels.
What are positions?

Yeah, that's one of several features I'm looking to address in the next update.

"Virginia has expressed interest in George Mason shooting guard Tyler Kolek. The reigning Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Year checks in at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. The Cumberland (R.I.) native averaged 10.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 2.3 assists per game.

Kolek was second in the nation among freshmen with 2.4 three-point makes per game. He led George Mason in both assists and three-pointers made in 2020-21 as a freshman. He led the A-10 in points per game for freshmen and was top-five for assists, rebounds, and steals. Kolek shot 35.8% from behind the arc and 79.4% from the free-throw line."

Reached out to rugged forward Daniel Oladapo of Oakland, from Bladensburg. Updated.

"He's heard from South Carolina, St. Bonaventure, Tulsa, George Mason and Florida Gulf Coast."

Obviously he is someone who thinks he might be able to play at a little bit of a higher level. His original offers are Samford, Towson, Bowie State, Bryant etc so he obviously was an afterthought being in the DC area from what it looks like.

Hopefully this would be an opportunity for Mason to grab someone who would like to play closer to home and could really help out Oduro up front.

Having lost $250 on an Oakland vs Robert Morris game I watched Oakland the rest of the year. In fact I put a curse on them. Oladapo is the real deal. Really really like his game as an undersized 5. Can also shoot free throws which none of our bigs can seem to do.

so basically he sucks and we should all hate him if you like him? :p

kidding- If he can help out even being a little undersized I’d gladly take him.

"I’m intrigued by Kolek’s ability to contribute on the defensive end. That 1.3 steals per game works itself out to a steal rate of 2.5% according to KenPom.com, which ranks Kolek in the top 500 in the country. That’s pretty good! Perhaps more impressively, Kolek was also in the top 400 for the lowest amount of fouls called per 40 minutes played. I will openly admit to not remembering watching any of George Mason this past season, but generally speaking, you’d think it would be pretty hard to be really good at creating steals and not committing fouls. Maybe there’s a specific way that GMU head coach Dave Paulsen coached the team that allowed for Kolek to do that, but it would seem to imply that he has really great hands on defense, and that’s always helpful."

check the article

Kolek was primarily an outside shooter for the Colonials, getting 148 of his 198 total shots on the year from behind the three-point line.
