I am simply amazed at the depth of ignorance of the fans who sit near me. Makes it even harder to root for this rag tag collection under the leadership of Bozo the Clown. Dont' know whether to cry or scream at how bad we are.

With Sammy or David Lee?

Sammy. I've always thought of Van Halen as two separate bands, one with David Lee Roth and another with Sammy. They had such distinct sounds, so I never really got caught up in liking one over the other.

Not to take this thread back to discussing the actual game, but we gave up a crapload of points in the second half AGAIN.

Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles could see we couldn't guard them in the man-to-man.

We're not great in the zone, either, but Wright is really their only consistent outside threat -- and anything is better than letting teams just drive into the paint over and over again.

Why, at this point in the season, does our coach still not understand that our man-to-man defense is awful?

Oh, and our senior guards scored 46 of our 73 points. God knows how we're ever gonna break 50 in any game without Allen and Wright.

Let's see if this works again (2-0 so far)

Gray will plan 6 mins or more
Copes will get at least 4 fouls and 8 rebs
Allen will score 18, Wright will score 17, Jenkins will go for 15
The rest of the team will score 10.

So final score GMU 60, Bonnie Duq UMass 67 or 57
2-1

He always fouls...he's always out of position...believe me, the zebras aren't as dumb as you all want them to be.
Yeah Ok - He was playing very well making some tough shots in the paint and the refs were dumb and the one CAA one was calling shit on us out of his historical and well documented hate for us. Sorry - that call was bullshit - as were the last three on Copes.

Also - the coach from SBU was almost always on the court - twice almost bumping into the CAA ref who looked at him multiple times on the court and never giving a warning or a whistle.

Dude, stop complaining about officiating. G Mas lost by double digits on their home floor and allowed St. F'ing Bonaventure get to the basket and get any shot they wanted all night. Don't blame the zebras.

Seriously? This is the type of stuff you concentrate on?

Refs had nothing to do with this loss.

Our coach is a stubborn a** who simply refuses to accept that his backcourt players can't stay in front of even decent A-10 guards.

NEWSFLASH, dumb-dumb: We can't play man-to-man against A-10 teams. Dayton carved us up with penetration, so did GW and so did St. Bonaventure. Can't wait to see what LaSalle's guards will do.

We're a disaster defensively -- 52 points in a half to Saint F'ing Bonaventure is a joke -- but I can't for the life of me figure out why we play anything other than zone and dare teams to beat us with the 3.

It just doesn't make any sense.

Our defense was an obvious problem tonight, but it didn't help that Copes, Jenkins, Holloway and Moore went a combined 1-16 from the floor. Not gonna win many games shooting that poorly.

I think he was warned once late in the game.

It shouldn't have taken that long. Bruiser pulled this crap on a yearly basis (and still does).

I was once at this Ohio State football game. And at one point in the game, I kid you not, one of the Ohio St fans started chanting O-H-O-I. Four freaking letters. Ever since then, no level of fan ignorance will ever astound me.

At least when Westhead's teams gave up 52 in a half, you knew they were trying to let the opponent score. Defense was an afterthought for him.

Hewitt is supposed to be a strong defensive coach. And yet, we can't even guard St. Bonventure. Ridiculous.

Plus we could have at least closed towards the end if we gave up less offensive boards.

Yep, and if the refs weren't biased against G Mas and, also, gave a couple bench technicals to St. Bona bench it would have been extremely close. Come on man.

It was neck-and-neck through 3/4 of the game, at it was still a game under 5 min, they just gave up when it was clear that it was out of reach. So the final score didn't reflect the game, but it still should have been easier for Mason. In other words, yeah, things like that make a difference.

When the game counted, in the second half, G Mas, as they have all year, couldn't keep up. It's reality.
