Also, that’s like an island paradise. Put him in the Sahara or something (Mauritania).
As well as now being a soccer powerhouse.

I just remember Westhead at Mason trying so hard to impress everyone with his NBA title and Loyola Marymount "Exploits". I kept waiting for "the system" to work. But had a .352 winning percentage at Mason and a horrid .279 winning percentage IN THE CAA. (What the f*ck?....what the ever live'n f*ck!.) He did have a nice local T.V. commercial though. lolClearly, he didn't get the award based on his record at Mason. If I'm not mistaken, Mason never won a game in the end-of-season CAA tournaments while he was coach.
But winning an NBA title (and I think a WNBA title with Phoenix) plus his Loyola-Marymount Cinderella story justifiably overrode his time in Fairfax.

"2. Staff Changes: Everyone affiliated with our program was heartbroken in the spring when our associate head coach Bryson Johnson’s application for an immigration visa renewal was denied. My life has been closely intertwined with Bryson’s since I recruited him from his hometown in Nova Scotia in the fall of 2008. Bryson was an outstanding player for me at Bucknell and an even more impactful leader on three Patriot League Championship teams. We spent eight years working together at George Mason and Holy Cross, and Bryson’s imprint at each school was unmistakable. He has been a trusted confidant, an outstanding mentor to our student-athletes, and one of the best skill development coaches I have ever seen. At George Mason he took future NBA players Jordan Miller (Clippers) and Tyler Kolek (Knicks) under his wing and remains an influential presence in each one of their careers to this day. Here at Holy Cross, Bryson was a constant presence in the gym with our players and helped oversee our 90 Wide Mentoring Program. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Bryson and will continue to support him as he pursues opportunities within the NBA.
Ted Rawlings, Sydney Armand, and Colin Richey all stepped up in Bryson’s absence this spring in our recruiting and player development efforts."

"The Creighton Bluejays have made their first addition to the Alan Huss-led coaching staff in former High Point assistant coach Corey Edwards. This was first reported by Jon Rothstein.
Edwards started his college coaching career under Greg McDermott in 2021 as a graduate assistant in the 2021-2022 season before becoming a true assistant for the Drake Bulldogs the season after. He made the move to Huss' staff at High Point the year after that and will now return to where his college coaching career began."
