I see day 1 starters to be

Otis
Kier
Grayer
Mar
Relvao but Wilson coming in shortly after. Mason wont be playing small, they will play medium haha.

I don't think theres enough scoring in that lineup. Mar will probably be good but still a freshman. They lose a lot of scoring with Moore so I can't really see just plugging in Kier. Could also see Greene being there

Good Take. As with most young teams, I expect the starting lineup to change several times before the end of the season. that's the only thing I feel confident in saying haha.

People are sleeping on Greene, could be a bigger contributor than Mar...

Nobody is sleeping on Greene. It's just that he plays the same position as our best player and with several other good young guards on the roster, minutes will be hard to come by.

Given our lack of production at the forward spots, Mar will have a chance to earn a starting job from Day 1. At 6-7, he gives us something we didn't have last season.

It's no more complicated than that.

It'll be certainly nice to not have Otis have to be out there 35 minutes a game for once, and to be able to put Otis or Javon with Kier will be real nice too. I also heard that Greene may have a bigger impact than Mar even though Mar is highly talked about. Should be great to watch unfold. Exciting stuff.

At the start of the off-season I'd have thought Grayer/Boyd at the 2/3, but based on what I've heard, Kier has made a decision to be great and is working his tail off to come back a much improved player. I'm not sure anyone is taking his starting spot from him.

Don't want this to turn into a "rosterbation" thread.. but I have a hard time with leaving AJ out of the starting lineup, knowing that he has spent the last year improving under this coaching staff. Either way, it's an extremely good "problem" to have.

With more and more teams playing without a true center, and AJ's ridiculous athleticism/shot-blocking ability, it's not crazy to think we could start out next season with him at the 5.

The bigger question for me is whether it's Kier or Boyd at the 2. Dave likes guys who know where they're supposed to be and handle their assignments, and both of them have basketball IQs that are off the charts.

As you said, we have many talented players and that's a great problem to have.

It will be interesting to see how the rotation works, Otis, Grayer, Kier, Greene, Newman, and Boyd provide a lot of options for the 1-3 spots

This is a great problem to have. Overall though, it seems like we have a very unselfish team that whether they're on the court or sideline, they're deeply involved and supportive in the game.

I hope Abram comes back and we play him at the 5. I think he is 6'9 now.

I have:

Otis
Grayer
Boyd
Wilson
Relvao

That's a good defensive starting five right there. Boyd's defense (able to defend multiple position, including players "bigger" than him) and ability to finish in traffic on the offensive side will be the deciding factor. It's starts with defense first in Paulsen's system.

If we need offense (i.e. 3-point shooting):

Otis
Newman
Grayer
Kier
uh...someone who can rebound?

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Calixte start at the 5.

Against teams with legit bigs:

Otis
Kier
Grayer
Mar/Wilson
Relvao/Temara/Calixte

By the time conference play begins:

Otis
Kier
Grayer
Mar
Wilson

Otis 1st team all-conference, Paulsen COY

Boyd averages 10 ppg/5 rpg off the bench and wins A-10 sixth man of the year.

Then things get really interesting with Reuter added to the mix in 2018-19.

Hurry the F up already, October.

Kier did have a lot of praise for the incoming frosh class. It was the first thing he talked about when I asked him if he was excited for this upcoming season.

Also thought it was noteworthy that they are doing extra conditioning this offseason that they didn't do last year. Makes some people's point about the players being tired by the tournament more valid.

Another great thing is all of the guys are here this summer working out. Maybe the 1st time in a while we have had everyone in town during the summer.

No Kenner League for these guys this year

Is Calixte on campus yet?

I really can't see a situation where Kier gets more minutes this year than Boyd/Newman

That's a shame if they don't do Kenner. Is that confirmed? Otis and Grayer played last year.
