I assume most people on here are in the Patriot Club, boosters of some kind, or season ticket holders at the least. It would be good to share the results (whatever they are), with B.E. to let him know how ticket holders feel.

I agree in principle, Vurbel, but this forum is such a minuscule representation of our fan base. If you think about it, it's the same 20-30 people posting here consistently, and some of the most vocal people don't live in the area and never go to the home games anyway.

At this point, Hewitt just needs to dig his own grave with Edwards. The mounting losses and empty seats will have a significantly greater impact than anything that goes on here.

Whats interesting is knowing Hewitt lurks on this board by proxy...and yet there is not a single YES vote....

I was a "yes" vote last year, at least in part probably because of how over the top the hate was for him by many on these boards.

This year, however, I think in 8 games we've seen about all we need to see. Kudos to our guys for playing hard and not giving up, but shame on our staff for not putting them in a position where they can succeed and win games.

I wish this week had been termination week, in part because I think our team is going to improve a little bit and win a few more conference games than people think (conference as a whole not near as good as last year), and I just don't want any false positives to sway people's decisions.

As much as I hate to agree with gmutom ( ;) now I have agreed with gmutom and the poormanprofit in one day-Hewitt does unite us...) I think we have evidence to back him up. I have people telling me that Mason is just having a rough start. I recall people last year posting that their conversations with regular fans being less negative of Hewitt as we are on here. Even the holdouts on here only fell fairly recently. So, I would suspect that the non-masonhoops crowd may have fewer pitchforks in it than we might otherwise think.

I meant to also say that this is what makes me REALLY nervous until the day Hewitt is actually gone.

I defended Hewitt for 2 years, and I was on the fence last year, but I'm still not seeing the promised turn around. I believe I was a yes voter last year, because I thought the Arledge situation and other player shenanigans were largely to blame. But those faces are gone, and the same problems remain, or have even deepened. There can be no more excuses at this point. He failed to win with the players he inherited, and now things look even more disjointed with his own players. Unless he has a miraculous turnaround, we need a new coach.

So, at the moment, there are 4 yes votes from:
All 4 accounts were created today and 0 posts. So, here are some possibilities:
-Employees in the AD started reading the boards again
-Hewitt is working public relateions instead of fixing his horrid coaching
-Whoever is couchcoach is f-ing with us

It is amazing how Hewitt has over 20 years of experience but seems to be getting worse in the recent time period of his career. A decent coach should be getting better with more experience. Not Hewitt apparently.

Perhaps what happened at Siena was dumb luck? (really weak conference and a few players who were really good at playing 1 on 1 against weak competition). If anyone else has ideas why the former fluffer for Ron Jeremy seems to be getting worse with his coaching each year please share.

He had 3 outstanding career 1000pt+ legit scorers at Siena.

Much like GT and Mason year 1....legit talent covers up the deficiencies. Once you lose the talent that can freelance and overcome.....he's got nothing else in the game plan.

This is what bothers me the most. I honestly thought his ability to recruit would overshadow his coaching deficiencies, but it's actually his inability to recruit any resemblance of a team that has created a giant clusterf-ck. You can't just throw a hodgepodge of ingredients into a pan and pray it comes together to make a good meal.

Any people who are still clinging to Hewitt figuring it out simply need to read the thread Joe Shannon started about our lack of assists. Nothing speaks more about the lack of an offense, a plan or team concept that the inability to share the ball and make your teammates better. Our entire system revolves around everybody getting their own, and we can see very clearly where that's gotten us.

The next assist I want to see is Edwards showing Hewitt the door. They can let Jay Marsh or Brian Sumser coach the rest of the season for all I care.

Some other nominations for interim coach:
Herndon: For predicting what a Hewitt team would look like. This would be a reward for so few people believing him.

Gmubrian: for trying to organize a band of pitchfork wielding fans to end our misery last year. May he rest in peace

Jollay: well, because he is Jollay. He is like Mason's own version of Chuck Norris

Couch coach: for being hilarious. Though I would have to insist on it being the version of couch coach that types perfect English so the team can understand him.

Pablo: for his statistical analysis

XTSG: for being TSG at one point and to pay him back for the unceremonious way he was retired. He was one of the few things in game atmosphere that was uniquely Mason.

Gumtom and patriot 99: for giving Hewitt a reasonable amount of time to (dis)prove himself, but being honest when it came time to cut bait.

GMURAIDER: for his cute but naive optimism.

Gmujim92, KAoriginal, GSII and patriotfan49: for being consistent the entire time in spreading the truth and fighting the good fight

Quentin: for his awesome use of the search capability to pull relevant threads from the past

Five two: has forgotten more about basketball than Hewitt ever didn't know. Also, he could do his usual job at the same time and help us with our assist stats

I apologize to those posters that I have missed. There are many deserving ones that I have missed

We could also use it as a fundraiser. We could auction off the privilege to coach individual games to the highest bidder.
