I did a lap around the newly-branded bookstore this weekend. Selection is great (Nike/Adidas/Columbia/Johnny-O/Greyson/Tommy Bahama/Cutter & Buck and many more) and on par or better than most school bookstores I've been to. The upstairs feels close to the same but the entire downstairs is nothing but merchandise. You want a sweatshirt with Eagle Bank Arena on it? Done. You want a selection of vintage Final Four merch? Also done. Love the Johnson Center and want it stitched on a crewneck? You can get that too.

Problem of course is the pricing. There are probably a few decent buys to be found but not many. I hope they get the traffic and make the sales they are anticipating.

Something this basic, you can just go to ETSY and get it made. Lids has a stitching machine, they could make it for you too.

Walked around the new Rally House last night for a little over a half hour and I didn't get a chance to check out all of the merch. It's kinda insane how much is in there. It has to be 10x what it was. I ended up picking one of the Final Four shirts they released last season. A couple things I didn't see, anything with the M quill logo, green zip-ups (lots of quarter zips & pullovers tho), a green polo style shirt with decent embroidery (each one I inspected had that piece of fabric inside the shirt that irritates your skin).

Guy working there said they're continuing to get more gear every week, so I'll have to check back later in the basketball season.

For some reason they have a corner of the bottom floor dedicated to Commanders gear. Must be some kinda Rally House licensing thing or something, but it seemed weird to me.

Is THAT a rhetorical qustion? I don't know if this is Mason making mistakes as it often seems little details are missed with multiple departments. Lots of money was spent to come up with that logo and the rules around its usage. If we love the logo, we should make sure that its used properly. If we hate the logo, it should be fine to point out the waste that went into coming up with that change.

Unless they're planning a release closer to start of season, it doesn't seem like this Rally House partnership is going to unlock anything new or different from Adidas (i.e. team gear).

In general though their online store is a lot better from a UX standpoint than what we had before.
