The official 2025-2026 Schedule Thread

JMU and ODU are home games, there will be plenty of butts in seats for both of those.

Also saw today that UCF is still looking for 5 games … not sure if they can make the dates work, but since we haven’t released the schedule hopefully that means Tony is working to fill it out with something other than tomato cans.
I don't think a B12 will play us in Fairfax.

And how does that help us? Shouldn’t we at least ask them to consider the Verizon Center and before you poo poo that idea… there are a lot of Floridians in the dc area as evidenced by “the Florida house” in dc so they’d have some fans too.
How does it help us to play a Big 12 team we could conceivably beat? That should be self-explanatory.

$15 doesn’t seem like that much to me…it’s the price of a movie ticket at this point. Now, package these games and make a pricing plan like buy one at 15, 2 at 25, 3 at 30 or 4 at 36 (that is 15, 12.50, 10, and 9 per game) and you might have a promotion that could put more butts inti more games and maybe hook some people.
I am retired, and I have movie pass for $8.66 per month. I get 1 movie per month with an additional movie every other or every 3rd month!!!

The games that have been posted so far aren’t that bad. Three in-state rivals, two solid mid-majors in either Loyola Marymount or FAU and a decent MAC squad in Ohio. Hopefully the remainder of the schedule isn’t horrible lol.
Come on Jim. I’ve seen you shitting on better A10 OOCs than ours lol. This is a terrible schedule.

Mid September and still looking for games. Season starts in 6 weeks.

Given our success the last 2 years, this year's schedule is the most disappointing one I can remember.

If scheduling is really getting this difficult, we should really talk to our conference rivals about adding OOC games with each other- perhaps the teams that we only play once, we could add a return game as part of the OOC (and I'm only talking about the teams in the conference who are similarly situated).

Can I like this post twice?

Doubt it'll happen, but I am totally for this move.

Whose schedule have I defecated on that is clearly better? Most of the A-10 has very soft schedules and if you’re waiting for Mason to be able to get games like Dayton does, for the sake of your family please don’t hold your breath.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but GWs schedule is better than ours and will end up being a higher SOS come January.

The top half of the A10 doesn’t have super soft schedules, they aren’t all stellar but they are generally okay.

I think we are actually the outlier this season.

GW has a lot of potato puffs on their schedule but somehow got a neutral game with Florida and South Florida. They have a meh MTE and play on the road at Army. They'll be ranked higher because of the UF game which they will probably get pounded. A bad loss or two and they won't be that far ahead of many others.

Fordham has the absolute worst schedule. I expect Mason's schedule to be like 2 steps above theirs.

I'm going to try and do a deeper dive into everyones non conf and the Torvik rating projections and see who comes out where. I don't see Mason's being any good (or what I'd like to see / many others) but I'd like to see at least where they land compared to peers.

quick analysis of home schedules
A-10 home schedule is great
OOC schedule is what it is and at this point in scheduling we are very unlikely to get any Quad 1 teams playing us at EagleBank and may be very lucky to get a Quad 2 at EagleBank

I don’t think we should ever expect to schedule a top 35 team at home in the OOC. If it happens, we should consider that a miracle.

Even getting a top 50 neutral site game outside of an MTE would be unlikely for us right now.

Why not play a 20-game conference schedule?

Why not play a 20-game conference schedule?

The ACC is looking to reduce their schedule because they feel like then20 conference games screwed up their number of bids they get. The A10 has a massive mushy middle that are good enough to kill at-large hopes but bad enough to lose to the worst team in the league. Going to 20 games would probably be a mistake for the top 4.

Flex schedule in conference and OOC scheduling arrangements with other top mid-major leagues is the way to go, but the A-10 office as usual is not willing to even try anything that requires even the slightest amount of creativity.
