Season Tickets

Well if we all say that our coach deserved a 100% increase in pay, might be reasonable to expect an increase in ticket prices.

Honestly, that is the best case scenario- demand increases and prices can rise.

Sucks there wont be a “but Ive been a hardcore fan for decades discount” but what we have literally all been clamoring for is for the circumstances that will lead to Lock Head and SAIC having all the floor seats and hospitality passes and us being priced up to the nosebleeds.

I dont think we are anywjere close to that coming off a season where we averaged ~3300 a game and that went DOWN for two NIT games, but “ideally” that is where well be in the future.

It's expected prices only go up, especially since we are paying Tony a boat load more cash over the next 5 years. The majority of the tab thus will be passed along to the season ticket holders to brunt this expense. However, wasn't expecting a 73% increase year 1 from the jump. Gradually increase it 15 or 20% year one and so on and so on..... but 73% out of the gate is a bit much.... if this is going to be the case.

Student fees increasing will help offload some of this cost but seems they are targeting season ticket holders to shoulder majority of the salaries cost over the years moving forward.

73% increase is substantial and quite frankly ridiculous. Are Gold Room donation requirements going up as well? Straw, meet camels back?

Ticket prices haven’t been decided yet- and I would be pretty shocked if it was 75 percent. Doubt that’s happening.

Oh, look. A drum! Let me bang on it a bit:

Attendance will get worse if the ticket prices go up much right now. There's already too much to do in the DMV on any given evening, therefore casual fans will choose other options if the price is raised.

Do you A - keep ticket prices the same/minimal increase, and work on getting the word out (MARKETING), thus more butts in seats; or B - raise ticket prices so that the offset of people dumping their tickets versus the new price brings in the same amount of money but leaves more empty seats?

Why would you be? They (the BOV) opt to be fiscally conservative with student fees so this would allow athletics to partially close the gap between us and vcu. They need resources and it’s not like we have our own Mike Repole(partly due to our age as an educational institution - either 1957 or 1972)

Ticket prices are definitely not finalized and not going up 75%. But most people’s tickets on here will probably go up.

What they are most importantly doing is creating more categories of ticket options/price levels.

Ticket prices have basically been the same, with only the donation requirement increasing as the seats get better and that has led to some overpriced nosebleeds seats and underpriced high demand seats.

High demand seats will likely see a modest increase (which is reflective of the fact there are waitlists for some of the high demand seats) with much cheaper options being created as well.

If cost is primary concern, you will have a more affordable than ever option. If best seats are primary concern, you will have to pay more due to demand for those seats.

If you have thoughts one way or the other, email Taylor, they are actively soliciting input and want to hear from us - but do it now.

Similarly, if you have thoughts on hospitality rooms - let Myles know.

You should be able to buy game day hospitality tickets. Those of us out-of-towners should be greeted with open arms when we make the trek to a game.

Space issues unfortunately although I get what you’re going for here.

How we feeling about the new pricing model Mason Nation? We knew it was coming with the change in the College Hoops landscape. My seats all in went up about 30%.

Not feeling great about it myself. My seats doubled. I'm already in the job market. Considering whether it's worth paying for season tickets that consists of a bunch of nobody buy games. Gonna think about it more after the sticker shock settles a bit.

Same, mine are doubling as well. Might have to go back to Value Ball season tix! Going to think about it for a week and then make my decision.

I'm not thrilled. I was already on the fence about season tickets the past two years. I basically kept them to support Mason Basketball. I just moved last year and gave up my 2.5% for a 7% mortgage. Kids are doing travel sports and we can't even make it to every game. I'm probably going to have to switch to a mini-plan or downgrade seats too.

My all-in price (2x seats with 2x gold room passes) in Section 129 appear to have gone up 12% to $2,100 for the season.

The taken alone, the "ticket" price appears to have dropped down to $300 per seat from $336.50 per seat, but the donations jumped from $1,200 to $1,500 for two gold room passes.

47.7% increase in my case. Hmm........ Nothing official in my MasonNation account yet. It willl be interesting to see what this does to attendance. We haven't been over 4,000 a game since the 19-20 season. 3,353 last year was the lowest in a very long time, excluding the Covid season.
