We get to watch Jalen Jenkins for 3 more years.

Patrick Holloway has the quickest release in the NCAA.

Marquise Moore doesn't believe in the havoc mythology.

TV broadcasters are still inventing new ways to pronounce "Marko Gujanicic"

GIVING DAY 2023
Jalen Jenkins giving hope and having guts
Marquise Moore looking like hes a nice piece
Marko (when healthy) looking like he can be a Paris Bennett who helps the offense move, sets picks, and sometimes score
Patrick Holloway swishing 3 pointers like none other
Bryan Allen trying so hard to be the leader of this team and improving his FT and 3 pointers
Having a good time sitting in section 108 at every game, win or lose
Green Machine
Being in the A-10 will force the administration to be "very serious" about the basketball program in general in terms of funding, recruiting, etc
Having some new (yet old) foes, and the chance to develop new rivalries and memories against GW, Richmond, St Joes vcu etc

1. Jalen Jenkins
2. Marquise Moore
3. Patrick Holloway
4. Doc Nix and The Green Machine
5. A new court
6. An on campus arena that allows students to easily walk to games
7. Other than this message board, very little pressure from media
8. The A10's media payout compared to what we use to get
9. A greater possibility a ranked team will play us at the Patriot Center (99% of the time it will be a conference game, but lets not nitpick)
10. The DMV is one of the best, if not the best, area for high school basketball recruits. Philly, NYC and Baltimore aren't too far away either. I remember a Wash Post article when Westhead was hired mentioning the three most important qualities Mason hoops had- 1. location, 2. location and 3. location. That hasn't changed in 20 years
11. We have lots of playing time to sell to these local kids
12. We get the benefit of the doubt from the casual that we have a good program due to a semi-recent Final Four run (perception is better than reality)
13. We are on TV more than 20+ times a season
14. We allow players to wear whatever sneakers they want, so long as its Nike

Not saying it would happen, but, is a rookie available for POY or do they only qualify for ROY consideration?

I have always thought it was a bad sign when you have a ROY candidate. More often than not, it seems they come from a team having a bad year.

I was just thinking about this yesterday: How much of Jenkins' rapid improvement is due to the opportunity that arose when Arledge quit and our other post guys sucked?

I have to think it's a significant factor.

Had Arledge stayed, J2/Copes played well and our team had gotten off to a really strong start, we'd still likely be wondering what we have in Jenkins because his minutes would be far more scarce.

Obviously, none of us are happy with the way the team has performed so far. But there is a silver lining to the cloud we're living under this season. Hopefully the extended playing time he's receiving this season will result in Jenkins becoming an all-A10 caliber player in each of the next three.

I hate that we'll never get the opportunity to see Arledge and Jenkins playing in the frontcourt together. And that a Jenkins/Arledge pairing would be so much better than any other combination we could throw out there right now.

Should this be in the "hate" thread?

We have the funniest people in the world on here after a loss. I just laughed so hard reading the Fordham thread I woke my kids up.

What's good about this program?

Unlike the NBA, it will only play 30-31 games, so our collective suffering will come to an end sooner than later.

Once pitchers and catchers report next month, I'm gonna pretend this season was just an awful, bizarre dream.
