Hey everyone! Just got off my meeting with the new director of student engagement- she's amazing and has worked with students and fan sections many times before, so her ideas are great.

I dont want to get fully into details until things are more concrete but, I wanted to know what chants from the past worked best for the students to be doing, and chants you guys think we should incorporate. These chants are going to be printed out on big posters and held up for all students to see when we chant them, we have some ideas but want to hear more you guys have and ones that worked in the best times of the student section.

Because Tony Skinn is about Patriot Pressure defense, have a chant that students do when we are on defense and there's less than 10 seconds left on the shot clock

Too bland. I remember that one from Little League baseball.

On the flip tho, any chant is better than no chant.


Too bad that the DJ can't chime in during game play. I'd love to hear the 'time is running out' frantic music from Super Mario Bros starting at the 10 second mark.

We have our phones for other plans to go after the opposing teams

Signs are used in soccer fan sections to coordinate it faster and easier. They will be held up for only the student section and green machine to see rather than the scoreboard showing the whole arena in the middle of a play

We can learn a lot from soccer culture on how to provide atmosphere. You’ve got to bring tifo culture to EBA too!

Thank goodness he can't! No offense to the DJ, but the extra music every second the clock stops, in just about every sport these days, is incredible annoying. And I certainly don't want it during game play. At ODU, their DJ plays a particularly annoying clip following a made free throw, and once played it after a brick, that was at least worth a laugh. But mostly, STOP WITH THE ARTIFICIAL NOISE DURING SPORTING EVENTS. And get off my lawn!

The plan is to try and coordinate a larger group with chants every game depending on the team, and send a game by game cheat sheet through barstool as well as airdropping to as many phones as possible pregame.
