Improve Mason home game experience discussion

I’d kill for a beer sponsored mason shirt. The lasalle team crushed it with this promo. Our promos have left a bit to be desired the last couple of years aside from the Hawaiian shirts.

Unless you're playing in the Maui Classic, I never saw the point of the Hawaiian shirts.

I know I'm in the minority, maybe even the only one, but I don't think alcohol should be a college sponsor. And I don't think alcohol should be sold in the arenas and especially chugging should not be celebrated on the jumbo screens.
But those of you who have been here awhile already knew that.

You arent the first person to mention that our promos have sucked. I have gotten several texts about that.

They do drive the fans to drink though so I can get behind serving alcohol at games. I just find the idea of a beer company sponsoring a college team funny because legally a decent portion of the team couldn't imbibe what the sponsor sells.

JMU, Cornell, ODU, and the vcu games are the ones to go to.

Are there any incentives to get a lot of students to come to games? Students get in free + a hot dog and soda?


1. Rewards, points & prizes
2. point-per-game system that leaves to free merch, gift cards (chipotle etc), priority tickets
3. Season long prize for attending all games (free ipad, free semester of textbooks, tuition credit raffle)
4. I know we do themed nights sometimes
5. Hype the student section brand (build this up)
6. Better intro experience for players

Lol. Andy Ruge has posted a bunch about 06 on Linkedin lately. He was talking about promotions / giveaways, and I brought up Mikey the Chimp. He apparently said that Mikey headlocked a youngster before the game. Needless to say I doubt hes doing halftime shows ever again lol.
