Other than being down 12 right now to Purdue, Kolek looks pretty darn good out there at the Maui Invitational. Just watched him from the top of the key SLOWLY and CASUALLY dribble around the guy down the lane and get a lay up. Dude stopped and posed for a selfie for the fans midway. DECEPTIVE he is.

We should give huge props to Dave Paulson for providing us THE list of former Mason players went on to be stars elsewhere that we could follow. Don't think any other HC gave that to us.

"Marquette had two chances to tie it, but 3-point attempts by Tyler Kolek and Kam Jones in the closing seconds failed to drop.

Marquette was attempting to become the first team to record wins over the No. 1- and No. 2-ranked teams in the country in back-to-back games since Loyola Chicago defeated No. 2 Duke, followed by a victory over No. 1 Cincinnati in the 1963 Final Four. The Golden Eagles' win over No. 1 Kansas on Tuesday was their third over a top-ranked team in program history.

Smith scored 18 points and Fletcher Loyer added 10 for Purdue.

Kolek had 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Kam Jones added 17 points and five assists for the Golden Eagles (5-1)."

Hey Rhody fan here. Tyler is quite the player. Amazing our last coach didn't offer him. He wanted to go to URI and play in front of his family I heard. Some coaches just don't see potential. He's no longer our coach.
Yep - if you look back at the beginning of this thread you can see who offered him. It was a lot of Patriot League schools and Richmond/Mason from the A10. Paulsen got him to Mason because of the connection to Kolek's coach.

He also wasn't even recruited as a point guard. The fact hes become what he has become is really amazing
