When this stadium finally opens we should have a cricket match, basketball double header, softball game, soccer game, indoor track & field meet, swim meet, and volleyball game on the same day. I don't care if some of the sports are out of season I want pure chaos around the intersection of 123 and Braddock.

The crazy thing is that Braddock west of campus - between 6 and 7pm on game nights, during rush hour, is not even backed up - and that is where I imagine the traffic would be entering the west portion of campus for cricket matches.

Your property value is increasing and all you're doing is sitting there complaining.

NIMBYs’ whole shtick is to act as if every project proposed near their precious homes, however benign, is a toxic waste dump.

I covered a community meeting a few years back where people argued vehemently against the county’s plans to put a PUBLIC PARK next to their neighborhood. That’s when I knew these idiots were not to be reasoned with.

The sophomore season of Major League Cricket (MLC) will again feature many of the world’s best T20 cricketers, with all six teams retaining multiple superstars following the conclusion of the international player retention window.

The finalization of international player retentions kicks off the roster building process ahead of the 2024 season, scheduled to launch on July 4. Teams will now be able to sign up to a maximum of nine international players to their respective rosters and have until the end of February to settle on the retention of their domestic players from MLC season one. "GMU West Campus Development Plans​

The Braddock District Office has heard from residents who are concerned about George Mason University (GMU)'s plans to build a temporary cricket facility on its West Campus property. If successful, the temporary facility could lead to the construction of a larger, permanent cricket facility as part of GMU's broader West Campus redevelopment plans. As shared in a previous Advisory, because GMU is a state university, projects on its campus are not subject to Fairfax County's land use, zoning, and approval processes. That said, Supervisor Walkinshaw shares the concerns of area residents about the potential impact on nearby neighborhoods, and the Braddock District Office staff have been working to ensure that GMU engages with the community and addresses the concerns in a substantive way. Recently, GMU President Gregory Washington wrote an open letter to neighbors of the campus. Additionally, you can learn about the project and submit your feedback on the GMU construction website. GMU and representatives of the Washington Freedom Major League Cricket team have offered to meet with community organizations to talk about the proposal. The Braddock District Office would be happy to help you connect with them."​
