Richmond comes into this game with a 12-15 record, 6-8 in the A-10 and 4-5 in road games after beating LaSalle on Saturday by a score of 84-75.

Grant Golden is averaging 17.7 PPG/6.9 RPG (16.1 PPG/6.3 RPG in A-10 play), Jacob Gilyard is averaging 16.7 PPG (16.1 PPG in A-10 play), and Nathan Cayo is averaging 13.1 PPG (14.2 PPG in A-10 play).

Grant Golden got 22 points and 8 rebounds in last season's game in Fairfax and Jacob Gilyard got 11 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assists in last season's game in Fairfax.

You're late!!!! LOL. You must have slept in. 2015-16 we were 2 - 0 against Richmond. 2016-17 we were 2 - 0 against Richmond. Last year 1 - 1. This year 0 - 1. Unfortunately we fall to 0 - 2 this year on Wednesday night. Richmond 74 - Mason 67.

Oddly enough, we handled Eric Williams Jr. really well last night -- got him in foul trouble and he was pretty much a non-factor in the entire game...some kid off the bench, though, starts and goes bananas against us. It's a really annoying facet to Paulsen's tenure here. That, and being unable to control a good big -- I'm more worried about Golden then I am Gilyard. We can let Gilyard go off if we control the paint and turn him into a one-man show, but Golden destroyed us in Richmond with both his scoring and his passing out of the post.

We we're 7-1 in January and are 2-4 in February. We don't have much of a home court advantage, especially with no crowd on a weeknight after a big loss. I find it hard to believe we can win this one. At the end of January, I thought it was impossible we wouldn't beat last year's win total in the A10. I'm starting to believe now that it really could happen.

We can keep looking at Kenpom and Vegas, who keep favoring us in games we ultimately lose or predicting small losses where we eventually get blown out. We can keep talking about matchups, or who to root for, and hope that other teams' screw ups put us in the top 4. Or, we can use the eye test and see that our ship is sinking fast.

Predicting based on Caps games was working well until it fell apart for Saturday's game. Though, if I had not used the game they were playing right before the Mason game started, I would have been right. Oh, well, got to find a new predictor.

So, I am going with my heart on this one and ignoring my brain that says our injuries combined with our weaknesses are too much to overcome, and predicting we win this one!
