Random thoughts from tonight:
I think Allen Iverson would have really liked Hewitt's system and scored a lot of points.
I liked our play late where Corey drove baseline and Marko found that a good time to run baseline from the other side causing a four car pileup. Thankfuly Marko's guy was chasing him and took out Corey in the process figuring no team would design a play so bad. Joke's on you SLU.
We'd almost certainly be winless without Shevon. Guy has improved so much just in 2 months. Great find.
Props to the students. Solid turnout and active participation.

How St. Louis almost beat vcu is beyond me. They are just not a good team. They are just young and raw. Their forwards are softer than Charmin. We should just post on them all day and night.
We played good team ball all-around tonight. What is it about Marko and Royal both not knowing when to switch or cut to the rim or stay put on a screen or to pick up their proper man. Its not rocket science.
I was yelling at Jalen and Shevon to go straight at the tall, lengthy white guys in Jolly and #25. They were definitely mismatched against Thompson and Jalen, however, Jalen scoring only 4 points against these guys is just bad. We need Jalen scoring 10-15 each night for us to beat good teams. He certainly has the motor to do it. He made some awful passes tonight too. I think he had 5 turnovers. Ugh.
Good to get the W. Just goes to show that any team can beat any team on any given night.
Attendance was pretty bad tonight but the Student section was pretty good tonight, finally, but WTF is up with the jumbo Face cutout of Biden!? Can we get some jumbo cut outs of Corey Edwards, Thompson, or Cam Long/Lamar Butler or something along those lines since this is a basketball game and not a presidential debate. Jesus. I shake my head at these lame a** students. Come on Man

Lol someone did that seriously? Wow. Nope, I was at home watching on tv , and fell asleep due to the beer with about 11 mins to go. Woke up with 20 seconds left and a win in hand. Congrats team!

Where have I heard that before? Kids played a solid game with good intensity throughout. I saw the pictures in the urinals. I am all for a new coach but that was sophomoric. I've got nothing personal against the guy, I just want him coaching elsewhere. I think we can turn the page without pissing on it. Having been a janitor during high school, I would hate to have to clean up the mess as well.
I can't take credit for that. I have to admit I did chuckle at it. Definitely sounds like a student prank of some sort. I understand some find it distasteful, but, if it was a student initiated thing, it gives me hope that we have some strong student support that might swell in numbers when we get a good coach.

glad people at the game that the student section was good. On TV, the atmosphere seemed pretty weak. All I heard were the cheerleaders doing the "go mason go" the whole damn time. Can they think of something else?

I watched that game, SLU attacked vcu's press with abandon. They had a very good game plan against the press and got lots of easy baskets. vcu also didn't have anyone down low that was changing shots like Thompson and Porter were last night.

Mike Eades was one of the refs last night, don't recall the last time he officiated in Fairfax.

vcu tends to struggle in St. Louis, lost 76-62 in 2013 and 64-62 in 2014.
He doesn't take many bad shots - pretty much none. He would score more if he did imo.
With his sweet stroke, Corey could easily average double figures if he wasn't so gun-shy. I realize it's a strange adjustment, but he needs to realize he's our shooting guard when he starts with Moore. The last thing we need is two PGs playing hot potato at the top of the key, which is what we saw last night on several possessions. The end result was Moore having to drive or take a rushed shot.
Corey's too good of a shooter to pass up open looks. With as dismal as we are from beyond the arc, I'd love to see him take at least five attempts a game from there (especially with Holloway out). He also had a nice floater last night that he could rely on more to avoid getting his shot blocked at the rim.
I love that line.
He did one of our CAA games two years ago.

Personally my gut is telling me it is an older alum. Most of the kids in school right now probably have little recollection of the FF years post and prior. Yeah current students might want a winning team but posting the coaches profile in urinals definitely sounds like someone with a deeper rooted chip on their shoulder, however immature it is.
