SLU 40 @ Duq 38 at the half on espn+. Dukes giving them a game, although in watching the last 5 minutes the Billikens look very impressive.

SLU, up by as much as 17 points in the second half, wins by only 4, 81-77.

Went from being up 4 with 50 seconds left with Dukes having 5 unsuccessful trips immediately preceding, to a 1 pt lead with 20 seconds left. Billikens missed 3 of 4 foul shots and had 3 mostly unforced turnovers to almost blow the game.

At least they looked fallible late in the game. Their coach in a post game interview said they were lucky to win and that Duquesne deserved to win.

Elsewhere, Bonnies win their first conference game at home by 14 vs Loyola after being down 12 at the half.

Nobody can watch St. Louis play and tell me that's not an NCAA Tournament team. They are loaded and bring it on both sides of the ball.

I think after watching that blood bath. Mason is unfortunately headed for a 4 seed in the NIT. I was hopeful we had a chance but I don't think so now. Maybe they can have a bad game? Miracles happen i guess haha!

The only thing that gives me hope is seeing SLU the last 5-10 min of the Duquesne game when the Billikens were missing foul shots and making unforced turnovers which got a double-digit lead down to one possession with less than a minute left. They certainly didn't look unbeatable in those moments, although that is clearly not the way they typically perform.

On a positive note, early in tonight's game at St. Bonaventure, the tv announcers posted a list of the top 10 records in Division 1 (3 with no losses, 7 with 1 loss, including both SLU and Mason). And gave a shout-out to Mason as a fellow A10 team that's having a very good year.

Although unmentioned, there was a national ranking number in front of each of the 10 teams. With one exception. As we already know, Mason is not (at least yet) in the top 25.

But it is starkly clear that Mason is the only team with one of the 10 best w-l records who isn't ranked in the top 25. Wish Dr. G had mentioned that.

Its one game....remember this came on the heels of an 81-77 squeaker against Lasalle in the prior game.

They are bearable

True! I guess any given day! We do play well at home, something I wish we could put together on the road more but by then team could be peak form. Hopefully it's a great game all the way around for the A10!

I applied one principle in business where I have built up small business that have won work over large competitors like Accenture, Deloitte, IBM - Sheer aggressive and hateful will relentlessly using every tactic at your disposal engaged in assymetric moves that won deals and in a shocking way.

If you come out and even if outmatched in skills - will - aggression - and never stopping can overcome. And in doing so crush the will and psyche of your enemy. never underestimate hate or a will to power. It's an amazing thing.

Dayton loses their second in a row on the road at St. Joe's by 7.
GW at home beats Richmond by 16. Ahead by ~20 most of the second half.

Middle of league tightening up.
