Steven Pearl named Auburn men’s basketball head coach

"AUBURN, Ala.—Steven Pearl has been named Auburn men’s basketball head coach, Athletics Director John Cohen announced Monday. Pearl, who has spent the previous 11 seasons on the Auburn staff, served as associate head coach the past two seasons has signed a five-year contract to become the 22nd head coach in program history."

"Dwight Perry, who was dismissed as the head men’s basketball coach at Wofford back on September 12th, has issued his first public statement since his release:

Perry and associate head coach Tysor Anderson were let go following controversy over on-campus dining cards – a seemingly minor violation.

Perry took over as the Terrier’s interim head coach back in December 2022, and was elevated to the full-time position following that season. He went 48-43 (.527) during his tenure, including a 19-16 campaign last season.

Today, Wofford alum Kevin Giltner, who had been serving as an assistant at Virginia Tech, was officially named as the Terriers new head basketball coach.

This seems like a rather avoidable self-own from Wofford College here (who seems to have a weird rule around off campus student-athletes using/having meal plans on campus?)

This wasn’t an NCAA violation at all, from my understanding.
