Not really, just wanted all of you who are so sure Hewitt is gone this year to brace yourselves for the possible return of the clown. You must have a plan to avoid any heart attacks, sudden bouts of violent rage or PHTSD (Paul Hewitt Traumatic Stress Syndrome).

I have seen no signs of an impending firing. Be afraid................Be very afraid.

What would you consider "signs" of his impending firing?

Much like Potter Stewart in the obscenity case of Jacobellis v. Ohio (1964), Stewart wrote in his short concurrence that "hard-core pornography" was
hard to define, but that "I'll know it when I see it"

Isn't this a sign?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...4bae88-b951-11e4-a200-c008a01a6692_story.html:

"Those close to the program, who requested anonymity because they are not permitted to speak on the matter, do not believe Edwards would dismiss Hewitt for the sake of saving $85,000. A decision, they said, would probably come after the season."
That is good news...if Edwards is willing to eat $85,000, then it seems he also would be willing to eat the $700,000 that would be owed to Hewitt if he is fired.

My plan is pretty simple: I will largely ignore the program next season.

I am surprised that Saul has not weighed in yet on this thread

I'm also disappointed in this thread. No sense teasing us average college students with fake good news like this.

Not cool.

Hewitt is the highest paid state employes (paid w/ state tax dollars). Given the current state of the state budget and declining budget for higher education, I think it is very hard for Brad or Dr. Cabrera to make their case at the General Assembly on affordability, capital projects, etc. if Mason pays anyone $650,000 to do nothing for a year. I do not want to ask them to justify that unless I am willing to put my money where my mouth is. Is there is a Mason alum and/or donor that is willing to step up and donate $650,000? (http://www.richmond.com/news/virgin...cle_a5325995-97a3-579e-9e35-ea528e95bc8e.html).

What captial projects? We just spent 1 Billion on capital projects so I think we about finished for the near future. As for justifying the firiing, they may not have to. LIke I said in another thread, the travel budget is 650k just for the mens team. Cut that in half by not going to spain, and other exotic places like Hawaii etc, and you can make it up quick. Plus, guarantee games. Who cares if we go to Kentucky and get whipped for 100k. It's not a big deal financially, but its gonna take a great coach to go on the road and be a giant killer. Sad side of this is, we are starting over.

I am not sure if this counts as a capital project, but the Fenwick Library is being expanded.
