I am usually very critical of the design of buildings on the Fairfax campus, but this I like.

I think if you look at all the videos you will see how the new orientation opens up the plaza and the really long site line that will run from the Humanities buildings all the way to Southside. That was part of the original plan.

This will totally change this side off the campus.
We’ll see. I have watched the videos. Unconvinced. Might just be making one trade for another in orientation vs. sightline.

That being said I really wish we had some more quad space. North plaza doesn’t count. Way too narrow. If we’re knocking down buildings I’d prefer to build them on surface parking. Build a deck to accommodate loss of space. But the campus core is too dense for my liking.

Curious what the benefit is now that we can support the scoreboard. Rigs for concerts? Or maybe it's just actually decaying. It'd be cool if we could get a bigger videoboard int he future.

I think the new video board is perfect size — anything bigger would look odd

Have to believe the roof is one issue and the support structure is another. Why would they hang a board if the support is about to change.

DC United chooses Loudon for 5,000 stadium, ruling out redeveloping Mason Stadium

dagger... of well. I hope Mason still moves forward with some

I can see why they didn't choose Mason. Looks like money and space are the biggest reasons.

"the county will provide the land and about $15 million in financing for construction of the proposed complex. About 50 D.C. United employees will work at the facility, where the team will build a training facility for its first- and second-team players, a youth development program and office space for its business operations. The facility will include four soccer fields for team and community use. D.C. United will make regular lease payments to offset any debt payments the county takes on as part of the financing package."

What is everyone's thoughts? In a dream world do you want to see a brand new arena, or hold on this building because this is where the memories are?

EBA is probably in the best location on campus. If they can find an interior design that works and put enough money into renovations, I say keep it.

Second scenario is build a new arena right next to it.
