Some clear and concise breakdown of the deficiencies was refreshing to hear. From the previous staff valuing athleticism and length over talent level to having a lack of good guard play, Paulsen called them out. As he said "We have a lot of work to do." Sounds about right if you want to change the culture of losing that has emerged.

Yeah, it also dispels the myth some spread around here that we were loaded with talent. To me, this is where Hewitt failed us the most. He thought he could just throw a bunch of athletes out there with no game plan at all. The result: We had by far the worst backcourt in the entire league, and it wasn't even close.

There is no doubt in my mind Paulsen can get more out of Hewitt's players than Hewitt did, but it also comforts me that he knows he needs to hit the road and get us another PG to back up Moore and a few more shooting guards who can actually shoot.
