Gameday Experience

Nobody is holding it against anyone. All we are saying is, it is possible, and a food upgrade is needed, during the games. If the gameday experience can help parents feed their families at the games with quality items, they would be making a large community happy. And we want that large community part of the Mason family.

Absolutely. I said that, the food could be upgraded. I just think turkey legs, Quiznos, chipotle is a bit unrealistic expectations when you look around at the peers above and below and see they serve the same generic items. Would people eat it if it were there, absolutely.....is it coming to that, probably never. If you want chipotle and turkey legs to double team with your friend, go to chipotle or medieval times.

When I think reasonable upgrades, I would think of something along the lines of brats, good BBQ sandwiches, grilled chicken etc would be much more reasonable of things they could both do, would make sense for vendors and make sure that they are worth while quality.

49, sometimes you talk in circles. Nobody demanded Chipolte. We are thinking in general, food could be better. Stop making discussions so damn painful.

That's the discussion that can be had, and more realistic.

If Mason goes to Monumental and says we need better food to attract people, Monumental who knows their sh*t, will say "why don't you start with a winning team first."

Maybe in Richmond, Norfolk, C'ville, Harrisonburg, families have time to get ready for a game, less traffic to deal with coming home from work AND going TO the game than Mason fans. So I think making the experience at Patriot Center as accommodating with better food items would help moms and dads scrambling to get there (with or without kids) by 7pm after fighting work traffic, then Fairfax traffic, then patriot center traffic. Getting the mom's in is a major plus.

I'm not referring to you. I totally agree with your stance. Tweeders opinion is the one that is absurd.

Great point....and it is definitely worth discussing, but I think the real question everyone is asking is "can we get a better GRADE of arena food?" Better level of hot dog, hamburger, chix sandwich, etc.

I still dont think a "premium" food choice of note will put the time or effort into the PC....

There you go, this is what it boils down to.

The food upgrade doesn't need to be extraordinary but something better than the current frozen bag of chicken tenders. I was thinking more feasible options like a nice brat, quesadilla, better quality hamburgers and chicken tenders.

Also, the announcer guy, imagine his voice right now, close your eyes and imagine him yelling a made three point shot. Its literally the worst noise I could think of. The fact that the announcer is so bad and that he's been here so long is a sign of no progress.

Would totally be sick! However, ventilation in that building is one huge issue that would need to be fixed prior to that. The exhaust from one of those things would give a player (or a fan) an asthma attack (kinda like what happened to ryan when that happened at a road game).

I haven't been able to watch a live game in years. I'm not sure if the Patriot is someone who actually wants to do it, or, if its a cheerleader doing it. I've been out of the loop since I left. Has he done any routines or anything like that still with the Cheerleaders besides the homecoming game pyramid?

I could be wrong but in the clip at the Wake Forest game, I do not believe the engine was running. Ithink the mascot had the chopper in neutral and was just walking the bike down to the floor.

They have done a nice job with updated menu boards at all the concession stands....nice LED monitors. Also a pet peeve of mine is that they don't show our game live on the in house TV's around the concourse. If your in line to buy a soda and the team is actually good again it would be nice not to have to miss any of the action. Something like this seems obvious, not sure why or AD hasn't figured this out. Show adds for up coming events before/after and at half of the games.

For tomorrow's game:

Golden Ticket Giveaway - The first 1,000 fans to enter the Patriot Center will receive a golden ticket. During a timeout in the first half, the winning golden ticket number will be revealed, and those lucky 100 fans will win a free limited edition Mason hat featuring the Patriot. Fans can exchange their winning ticket for their hat at the Mason Ticket Kiosk located on the south concourse of the Patriot Center through the end of the game.

Complacency. Satisfaction with the status quo. Athletics as a "side door."

The gifts from Merten and O'Connor that keep on giving.

I can assure you the engine is on. At the Miami game, it was louder than loud. It shakes everyones insides! And no smoke.

So 100 random people get a...hat? Oooh!

At the risk of comparing ourselves to that "safety school" an hour or so south, but when they have a "gold out" they have shirts on every seat for every fan. Now I know realistically we don't sell out the PC, but giving out shirts to everybody (not just certain people) would be a good start.

Sound
New announcer

I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but having a new sountrack for our audible basketball experience would be great. Now we all agree what we see on the court is more important, but I don't recall anybody saying our announcer was great.

I'm not sure how much the food can be upgraded since thats managed by Ovations. So the idea of getting like a Panera or something is probably not realistic. However like a few people have said, at least have the food that is brought be better quality, especially for the price that we all pay is ideal. Many of us come at least an hour in traffic to make a 7pm weeknight tipoff at the PC and to pay 15 dollars for tasteless or bad food is not fun or fair.

Been to 3 home games this year and twice I was 5-10 minutes late to the game because I was scarfing a Wendy's burger and frosty in the Brion's parking lot. I did not care, I just had the Mason App on and listened to Bill.

I think some stand up eating bars on the walls around the concourse would be a nice touch.

And while we are at it lets get a party deck. Kidding (kinda)

The eating bars would actually be fantastic, but that means they'd have to add in house TVs showing the action too IMO. I wouldn't want to stand at those bars during the game and miss anything. Pregame, obviously would be fine.

While we're making a wish list, let's throw luxury boxes on there. Ahh, forget it, just build a whole new arena.
