Saddest thing is that we played well for the most part. Moore hit jump shots, Thompson was Thompson, Tate had three 3s and the perimeter defense was better than I expected ... and we still lost.

At this point, I'll be surprised if we win again this season.

Aside from Jenkins choking at the end. why in the hell didn't Hewitt tell his team to foul with six seconds left? Fact is Davidson is an excellent 3 point shooting team. The only play was to foul. Even if Davidson make two we are still up by one with 4/5 seconds left. Hewitt is not the answer, and while the Washington Post
article written says how much Brad Edwards cares, I say do something about it. he says he will review the situation at the end of the year. Why wait?

Yep...St. Louis almost beat vcu. Wouldn't be surprised at all if we lost to them.

I'm pissed at Jenkins but feel bad for him at the same time. He was obviously dreading those FT's.

Hewitt must go! He's installed a loser's mentality into this team.

Not sure I get your point, KA. Butler went to the NCAA title game twice out of the Horizon League. A good team is a good team regardless, and Davidson is a good team with a good coach (just like Mason and vcu were when they made their runs from the lowly CAA). We are currently a bad team with a bad coach.

When your nightly games go from VMI, East Tennessee State and Furman to vcu and Dayton......and you still kick a**...then it shows how good the program is.

It just goes to your point of how BAD BAD BAD Mason is. We came from a "better" conference than the SoCon and have still gotten the snot beaten out of us.

Why isn't ingrained in them if that's your philosophy though? Am I asking too much of a coach who makes $700,000 a year and is due to get another $85,000 on March 1st?

Hewitt should have instructed the team to foul immediately if Jenkins missed both shots at the time out. Not scream to foul after the ball is already down the court. Totally his fault.

Fact of the matter is if one of our best players can make one free throw, we win.

It was a massive choke. All Davidson was take advantage of our tendency to gag.

I have been watching numerous games this evening...Michigan - Wisconsin, ODU - UAB, Auburn - Alabama...win or lose the coaches all have fire in their belly...most of these guys make millions, have a desire to win and show it. This is the very clear difference i see between Hewitt and most of the other coaches i see on the tube. The kids see this and feed off it. Winning starts with the coach.

Yeah...love McKillop, but don't see Davidson making the tourney this year. This was a choke job pure and simple. I'm sure we'll get crushed at Davidson though.

Well if Jack Gibbs plays...its probably not even close. And they lost the other good kid for the end of regulation and overtime.

So Im not sure whats more sad....them or us thinking they are because they actually did gut it out and stay in the game to be able to win it....

Saddest part to me is watching guys play their heart out and leave it on the court, but they are getting basically undercut by a coach who provides them nothing.

Their effort deserved that game, and everybody else in the arena knew it was wise to foul that last possesion......everybody but our coach.

Our players deserve more than Hewitt.

During overtime somebody in my section yelled "C'mon Paul!" To which another guy in the section yelled back "Don't complain about something you don't know anything about!"

Apparently, none of us know anything about anything.
