They really got rid of Mason Madness? I enjoyed taking my family to that
Kind of lost its appeal to me once it was no longer midnight madness. They really got rid of Mason Madness? I enjoyed taking my family to that

When it was held at midnight it was great; the focus was basketball. When it began being held at a 'reasonable' hour, it became a kids circus where basketball was barely secondary.Kind of lost its appeal to me once it was no longer midnight madness.

Is the Mason mile still going to go on tomorrow even when its raining in Fairfax tomorrow?
I understand the rules changed. And you can mark this change as the beginning of the end of what made college basketball one of the best college sports around ... before money drove everything. It also used to be literally the earliest possible first practice of the season and then those restrictions were relaxed and then relaxed some more (and now there’s a summer camp), so it has lost its raison d’être.
You could do an exhibition and make it a party-like atmosphere free event if you wanted as a replacement for “Madness.”
Easy... not that many people. How are they going to fit all of these people in the EBA concourse for the mason mile?
When we got there at the start of practice, I was wondering why people had sheets with numbers on them and what the folding tables were doing open in the lobby. Otherwise the place felt dead when we arrived.

Trip to the GW game, a metro card? Uber gift card? They did have drawings for various prizes--new Roku tv for the winner of musical chairs, trip to GW game, airbuds, etc. But I don't think they were announced/advertised ahead of time.
