Men’s Basketball Announces Home-And-Home Series with High Point - George Mason University Athletics

The George Mason University men's basketball team will begin a home-and-home series with mid-major power High Point University during the 2026-27 season.

It's a good home and home, but a 'mid-major power' they are not.

Doing games with High Point and South Florida is just so good for our non conference. We have 3 h/h so we probably could use a neutral game before we get our slew of buy games.

We'll see, but those are excellent h/h games additions.

I think we're home again against ODU this year and then away there next year (with an option to kill the away game allegedly).

Here is the Men's basketball 2026-2027 season schedule so far, atleast that I know of

2026-2027 Season Schedule:
Home game vs Old Dominion - Date TBD
Saturday November 21st - Home game vs South Florida
Wednesday December 2nd - @High Point

P5s are starting to release their full OOCs. I’m guessing that we probably don’t have too much more excitement to look forward to from a scheduling perspective unless we have some more mid major home and homes up our sleeve.

This is not going to happen. Most of the main MTEs will filled at the middle of last season for 26-27.

This is not going to happen. Most of the main MTEs will filled at the middle of last season for 26-27.

The one I heard we were working on for a while was a decent one. Didn't have Duke or anything but I think Temple was interested or involved. Not sure where it went or how it materialized. Have to imagine we are in one, but just haven't announced for some weird reason.

There’s no way we turn a profit buying games like Coppin at 75k. There might be 3k people who show up to that.

Maybe under the new pricing structure these buy games finally make more financial sense, but paying Coppin 75k to take a 45 minute drive down 95 is kinda wild to me.

schedule a weekend away game at Coppin and charge $20 for a bus ride and ticket from GMU to CSU
that arena holds less than 4000
with enough interest it could effectively be a GMU home game
- and the concession food is affordable!!

should do the same with Towson State, Loyola-Marymount, Navy, Morgan State and Howard
