Closer than I hoped but a win is a win. Great crowd again tonight!
Game 19: GMU (17-1 / 5-0) vs GW (12-6 / 3-2) on Monday, January 19, at 5:00 PM.

Ended with 1500 tickets requested, not all show up but still a damn good showing.
Another solid win against a local rival and beating that troll Caputo once again. The guy is forever mad we didn’t hire him and now he loses his mind because he hasn’t beaten us in forever.
We got lucky today but we knew how to take care of business when it mattered. Gw threw the first punches and we quickly punched back with a run late in the first half. We had some really silly turnovers in the first half that were just bizarre. Thankfully the second half we settled even if we didn’t know what we wanted to do offensively half the time.
We are lucky gw threw the ball away a few times down the stretch. Between that and Caputo’s antics, this one is going to sting them once again.
Castro and Johnson are super talented, but for whatever reason they cannot get it done when it matters against us. Fine by me.
Sounded like an awesome crowd at EBA. People are into it and enjoying a basketball game and not thinking it’s a library. Hopefully this continues as we will need to keep being loud through conference play.
Hell with them and onto the next one. 18-1. Go mason. George Mason university. Basketball school.

Just back from EBA, great crowd, very engaged even in first half. Place is starting to rock again. The game was interesting, first half up and down lots of fun baskets , dunks, reverses etc. Second half was very half court and much slower until the last 3-4 min. Great plays by Masai Fatt, Riley. And nice dishes by Kory. We had a little trouble with Castro but the last part of game we double teamed him and he missed chipees. Great team win and I think once again Tony out coached the bald guy.

We always seem to play a close game against GW. Have to say Castro is a beast. Don't know why we couldn't guard Johnson. If they had a few more shooters, they'd be a really tough team.

Great atmosphere. Students showed, and great leaders in the section getting them involved. vcu felt special and there was some plusses, but tonight felt as special. And only heard one chant from the visitors. When the game and crowd is that exciting, I'm not caring that my nachos are overpriced.
I noticed the scoreboard showing d-fense and George/mason in the chants. Does that normally happen? Did someone figure out how to use the scoreboard, or cause CBS was the broadcaster, or because people showed up that the scoreboard operator tried harder?

Board always does the d-fense thing. It definitely felt like a continuation of the vcu crowd energy though. I think Kyle on the Mic and the DJ are getting better at hyping the crowd as well. Kyle has always been good, but he's getting a better feel for the crowd and what works. Also, someone finally got him some Mason gear instead of wearing that green sweatshirt all the time. We're back baby!
GW can keep him. We have the best coach in the A10.
When I saw that I actually thought it was us because Hewitt got me used to shit like that.

I was wondering if he was just gonna redshirt and try to get an extra year at this point. I am kind of concerned what happens when he returns, would it actually be a positive, would it mess with the current chemistry, and where do his minutes come from?
