Student Section rebranded... again

Just don't put seats in the student section. It's pretty sad when the front row is sitting all game.

The biggest of problem of all is that the front row closest to the bench is "reserved" for cheerleading/dance team "staff" that just sit on their phones and/or talk passively to the cheerleaders the whole game. This has been a problem with that part of the student section since I was a student near the end of the Larranaga era. Kick the cheer and dance team members/coaches that aren't actively cheering or dancing to the curb. If the cheer/dance staff/coaches insist that that row belongs to them, maybe they should actually do some cheering.

You don't see staff taking up the front row of the student section at Cameron Indoor! This is such an easy, simple, and minor fix that has massive potential upswings. It blows my mind that it STILL hasn't happened after 15 years.

They should follow Trevor's lead.

So put in a screen that reads and portrays the crowds energy. If the crowd is quiet it shows images of a sleepy couch potato or some guy from the crowd being boring or emotionless....if crowd is at a medium level of noise energy, then a comparable video pops onto screen and so on and so on. Maybe it can run thru the jumbo tron or a separate screen just for students.

This is an excellent idea… when crowd too quiet maybe sleeping rip van winkle…then some funny bit to get him motivated!

I'm also not a fan of the vocals but a big fan of the band. A few years ago, they had a very good singer on Aretha Franklin covers, but since then, not so much.

Also, it seems to me, that this year the band gets less "air" time in deference to the emcee. I guess the reason is to get more crowd engagement with various "competitions". While that may get more people off their phones and paying attention to what's happening on the floor, I personally am more entertained by the band.

However, understanding the Evolution of the Departure from standard music might help you Escape to new Frontiers of an older generation who were Raised on the Radio. After their Trial by Fire, the Arrival of new Generations of musical Revelation, they Eclipse the Freedom to not have a singer.

With all the attention on the amazing play of the team, one thing no one mentioned about the Cornell game is the crowd atmosphere. Crowd was very expressive loud and engaged last night especially in the second half. Loved it.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and genuinely into the game.

The crowd was really into it, for sure. Hard not to be enthused--close game throughout between 2 good teams playing at a fast pace. Admittedly, the sight of the green-painted shirtless guy I wish I could unsee!
