I’d be interested to know where the staff ranks Hammond in relation to Okojie, Begg and Bevins, all of whom took official visits to Mason and also look to play PG in college.

Even assuming we’re willing to take 2 PGs in the 2024 class, does Mason take a commitment from Hammond now or wait to see how things shake out with the other 3?

Could be a matter of the first 2 PGs to commit get the spots … seems like we really couldn’t go wrong with any of those guys.

Based on the fact that he visited Rhody last and we’ve already taken official visits from 3 other 2024 PGs, pretty good bet he’s not coming to Mason lol.

Pretty telling, considering our new director of player development coached Hammond in HS and knows his game as well as anyone.

Also Hammond would be the second DMV guard to sign with Rhody since Archie took over. They got Connor Dubsky in the 23 class, another kid with some type of offer from Mason.

Kenny Johnson is a good recruiter and has deep connections in the DMV, but I always felt like Dubsky was a reach for an A-10 school.

Mason is among the final 7 schools for 6-5, 190-pound SG Landren Blocker from Arkansas.

Long and extremely bouncy, a defensive menace, Blocker was one of the standouts at the Wooten Top 150 Camp in Texas last fall. His older brother Layden is a 5-star PG who will suit up for Arkansas in 2023-24.

Wichita State, Murray State and Louisiana Tech also are in his final 7.

Downhill wing who attacks and can finish way above the rim. Inconsistent shooter with ability to improve. Does the little things for Brad Beal Elite.

Was very impressed when I saw him in Atlanta. Would be thrilled to add him.

He’d be a perfect fit for a team that wants to press full-court and play up tempo on offense. A team like, say, Mason lol.
