It sounds like Skinn is going Mason into a 1/2, 3/4, full court pressure team. If it's the case then forget about winning pretty..it'd gonna be ugly at times...but...it will make Mason at contender again if team buys in.
We need another shooter. Someone posted the shooting percentages of the guys Skinn has signed. Small sample size but still.

It was, and it was infuriating to me. As you said, his energy on the bench was fantastic, but nepotism should have no place in George Mason basketball.
If it was essentially part of Josh’s NIL package to keep him around for his senior season, I think it was a prudent investment. The 13th scholarship is almost always a “In case of emergency, break glass” type of player anyhow.

Peter Oduro has entered the transfer portal. Loved his energy on the bench and he was a great teammate. But it was obvious he was given a scholarship because of Josh. Best of luck to him.
Great kid, but this always rubbed me the wrong way. I hope the best for him, but glad we don’t have to use a scholarship on a player who can’t perform at the A10 level.

I wish him the best, and i hope that he can find a school that allows him to get a good education and plays basketball at a level that he can be a starter or at least play a lot.

Take a hard look at other schools - scholarships 12 and 13 are allocated to players who don't play a lot but benefit the programs in other ways:

4.0 students who practice and raise the Team GPA
children of former prominent athletes or coaches; friends of the University, etc., etc.

and in this case assurance that Josh returned for his Senior Year

Since the 1–and-done rule was instituted, Duke’s 10th through 13th scholarships were reserved specifically for guys who were certain to graduate so they wouldn’t get dinged in the APR score by having so many players leave early for the NBA.

As you accurately noted, scholarships can and are effectively utilized even if the player doesn’t contribute much on the floor.

take a look at the guys on the end of the Kentucky Bench - similar situation or likely worse than Duke

BTW was Coach K's grandson a walk-on or scholarship player?

That's OK with me. The Oduro's are good folk and I wish Peter the best. As much as I wanted to see Baby-O grow up at Mason, I'm fine with grabbing a skilled freshman with a high ceiling to take his spot. CTS now has three open scholarships, correct? Get out and beat that pavement hard!

Is 6'9 the new 6'7?! I'm siced for size.

In all seriousness, this kid looks like he would be a lock to start at the 4 or 5 - thus his interest list.
FWIW, some recruiting sites had Elvis listed at 6-9 and then he got to campus and our training staff apparently measured him at 6-7
