Was that just a really long way of saying you don’t know either? :ROFLMAO:
I understand why the Arizona, Minnesota, and Marquette offers fell off (coaching changes) but I don’t know what caused Providence and Xavier to back off.

If that’s all it was, the coaching changes, don’t you think he would hold offers from the coaches new schools (Xavier and New Mexico) since both landed at lower level programs? Isn’t it strange there are no mid-major offers if the kid was getting offers from Pac12 and Big10 schools?

I’m just saying something seems slightly off with the information that’s out there on his recruitment.

It’s definitely odd. I’m not going to ask him about it though.

Nnaji spoke on his relationship with Xavier and Providence with 247Sports.

Xavier: “Our relationship is going pretty good. I have a pretty good relationship with the coaching staff and they are recruiting me hard. Coach Peters has been leading my recruitment and with him being from Arizona, he coached my cousin, Zeke Nnaji, so we've had this relationship for a while now and it's good to have. He knows how I play, he's been watching me for a while. Their main message is just that they have exactly what I need and they know how to use me better than all the other schools so we'll see how it goes from there.”

I don't know if we have one locked and loaded, but I do think the staff realizes we need a seasoned PG and not another freshman PG coming in next year. We offered Saxby back in March of 2021... I think a lot of our needs have changed since then.

Things have been pretty quiet over the last week or so. Patiently waiting.

Finally sat down and watched some of his tape. Has a better outside shot than I expected. Really liked his frame - wide shoulders and a big chest. He looks like a typical vcu/SLU recruit. He defended well in the abbreviated two games I watched. He was better than I expected. I'm not sure why other schools aren't fighting harder for this kid.

He’s a KE guy. Don’t think we are going for freshman guards unfortunately.

If Gaines is even thinking about sticking around for a COVID year, that makes sense given you’d have him and Fernandez at the 2 and 3. Would make sense to focus on 23 recruits at those positions.

Otherwise, reload with the portal again if Gaines leaves after next season.
